The Summer Transfer Rumour Thread - Part II Chelsea-banner
So We've made 4 signings, Three of which were desperately needed and the last is a legend returning to the club. No complaints here.

I thought, to kick this part (two) off, I'd look at the possible squad for the upcoming season, since we're unlikely (at this stage) to purchase anyone else, all rumours are likely to be departing ones.

Possible squad:
GK: Cech, Courtois, Blackman/Beeney Schwarzer
DEF: Azpilicueta, Ivanovic, Terry, Cahill, Zouma, Christensen, Ake, Luis
CM: Fabregas, Matic, Ramires, Mikel, Van Ginkel/Romeu
AM: Oscar, Hazard, Willian, Schurrle, Salah
CF: Costa, Lukaku, Torres, Drogba

Red = Homegrown
Blue = U-21
Orange = Part of the squad but not included in 25 man lists (Aka the Hilario role)

So that is 25 players, Basically, Schwarzer cannot be part of the squad due to the arrival of Drogba, unless we remove another homegrown player. Since that is completely pointless for a third GK, Mark will only see action if either Courtois or Cech is out long term with an injury.
It also means that should Lukaku leave, we can only add a homegrown or U-21 player to our team.
I am not entirely sure who will make the squad out of Beeney and Blackman (since Blackman is currently MIA) or out of MVG and Romeu (Since Romeu just signed a new deal).

It does mean we have a long list of players who will have to depart:
Moses (sell or loan)
MVG or Romeu (who ever doesn't stay will probably be loaned)
Marin (likely to be sold)
McEachran (loan)
Bertrand (sold)
Bamford (loan)
Swift (loan)
Chalobah (loan)
Delac (loan)
Saville (loan or sold)
Atsu (loan)
Kakuta (loan or sold)
Clifford (loan or sold)
Davila (loan or sold)
Perica (loan)
Kane (loan)

There could even be a few surprises left in this window, but our squad is shaping up rather nicely.

I am really hoping that we keep Van Ginkel this season.

Remy means we'd have to somehow get Torres off our books, or another non-homegrown player. I wouldn't be opposed to it though.

I hope MVG stays too, he is better than Romeu.

Drogba on our summer acquisitions:
-

"It was very important for us to buy these players, they are all good signings.

"To have Cesc with us, I think he’ll understand it’s better to be with us than against us."

"I’ve been watching Diego play over the last few years and the first time I saw him I really liked him as a player. I like his character, he’s solid, he can score goals and he’s also technically gifted. He likes people to respect him and that’s important."

"They are good players and I hope they will bring their talent and experience to the team."

These quotes are BS, he said he called Luka to talk about his family, not a transfer.

So that's:
-

OUT:
-
Luiz – £50m
Ba – £4.75m
Lukaku – £28m
_________________________
-
TOTAL = £82.75m

IN:
-
Fabregas – £27m
Costa – £32m
Luis – £16m
Drogba – Free
_________________________
-
TOTAL = £75m

And that's not even counting the wages of the likes of Cole, Lampard, Eto'o, etc. off the books.

Meaning we've made a profit of £7.75m in this transfer window as things stand.

Remarkable.

Merged that comment here since it's talking about transfers.

Also, since we've got a profit now, we surely have to spend and bring in one more player.
Not sure who, yet, but I imagine the club will have someone in mind, as long as it isn't a CB Laughing

Funny you should say that, considering Marca today are reporting pretty confidently (not that that means anything I suppose...) that we've tabled a bid for Miranda.

I hope so. If we use up our one remaining foreign spot in the squad (provided we sell one more player, mind) on a sodding centerback when we already have four for them, I'm going to be livid. Need another striker. Costa gets injured (or worse, flops) and we're back to the strikeforce of 11/12 The Summer Transfer Rumour Thread - Part II 91250887662

Either Torres or MVG as well as Schwarzer needs to leave/not included in squad.

And bring in someone like Bony/Doumbia/Lacazette Or Pogba or another young promising CF like Berhino/Icardi/Mitrović/Benzia.
