Bartra was questioned as to why he did not sacrifice a yellow card for his team in order to stop the former Tottenham star.

The 23-year-old stated that he could have caught up with the world’s most expensive player had it not been for his tight hamstring which, by the time of noticing, was too late to reach him.

“Now if you think about it, then maybe I could have (fouled him). But if I had not damaged my hamstring, Bale would not have got past. I am sure. If it happened in the first half I would have reached him,” Bartra told Barça TV.
