Well done Chelsea.
But Salah was just awful today.

If most of you have experienced Mohammed Salah in Basel, you will know for all his talent and ability that he is one of the worst finishers in Europe. Chelsea and their fans must acknowledge that by now.

Disgraceful decision making and finishing from the entire team today. That was worse than City away and our profligacy in front of goal might end up costing us a League we should be walking.

It took Suarez two years to learn how to finish. Salah was beyond wasteful today but like all great players he makes things happen. By far our most dangerous player today.
Still raw but the potential is clearly there.

I'm clearly right. He would regularly get into great scoring positions yet repeatedly botch his chances. It wasn't until last season he became lethal or on the verge of it anyway.

Altidore scored 51 goals for AZ in two seasons.

scored 100 goals in 160 apps before joining liverpool braahh, you said he doesnt know how to score, well it doesnt matter if he was playing in the dutch league, he knows how to put it in the net. altidure is playing for a relegation team, he isnt going to get many chances to show that he can finish is he?

Re: Barclay's Premier League discussion '13-'14 V10
You have to know how to finish to hold a record of better than a goal a game no matter what league you're in. Nevermind that fact, you're also ignoring his scoring in European and international football competitions as well. But then, you've been little more than hyperbolic caricature of your previous self in recent weeks, so I guess we should expect little else.Gil wrote:RedOranje wrote:Gil wrote:It took Suarez two years to learn how to finish. By the way, just acknowledging it here that Hull will be in the Europe League qualification round three if they lose the FA cup final or in the group stage if they win. It's a mighty fine season they've had, fresh from the Championship, too.

This isn't even fair. Have Liverpool played up to 40 games all season? Out of the league cup, out of the FA Cup, no Europa. Only playing league games. Amazing.

So basically only 2 PL teams in the EL again next year.

Yeah, there's going to be some pressure on you guys to do the Premier League proud there.

So, if things stay the way they are, Arsenal, Spurs and Hull are in the Euro League?

Re: Barclay's Premier League discussion '13-'14 V10
We'd also have a significantly stronger and deeper squad, with more prestige, money, and game play on offer to tempt players in. Liverpool have had a great deal fewer fixtures but we also have a notably thinner squad due to having less funds and less draw without the CL.
You cannot simply whine about fixtures then ignore the benefits.

Re: Barclay's Premier League discussion '13-'14 V10
exactly RedO that's what I was saying.
But even Arsenal fans on here have now resorted to Mourinho's whining line, completely counterfactual, especially if you consider how well their league has been going since they're out of the CL

Re: Barclay's Premier League discussion '13-'14 V10
That might have something to do with playing teams like Liverpool, Chelsea, City etc. consecutively and having players out injured whilst playing across four competitions. But don't let facts get in the way of your fantastic little notionHapless_Hans wrote:especially if you consider how well their league has been going since they're out of the CL

It depends on who wins the FA Cup. If Arsenal finish 5th and win the FA Cup, that opens up a Europa League spot for 7th and rules out Hull.

Considering under which circumstances City won the first game, this win is more than deserved for us.

I'm just defending the heroes of Liverpool FC from unjustified, unfair and jealous attacks, while displaying Giroud's backside for everyone to see.
Nothing wrong with that.
