Yes, because in order to win against Villa, Crystal Palace, Stoke etc you NEED strikers of better quality than Eto'o, Torres and Ba, otherwise no way
Mourinho struggles to find a way to play against defensive teams as he likes to react, that's the truth and not this ridiculous 'we have nostriker' shtick

Yes, Mou likes to react, that's why against Crystal Palace Mou instructed the team to sit back and enjoy and thus they lost
There is enough creative players in the Chelsea squad, and Mou knows exactly how to best utilize them on a game-by-game basis, but there's no point in having creativity when you don't have anyone to take advantage of that creativity. That's a strikers job, and if you're telling me that the three strikers Chelsea currently has are competent then you're deluded
You name specific teams, but weaknesses of a squad are displayed over a season in some way or the other. Going into the season, Chelsea knew the lack of good striker was going to cause them at some time (like against Crystal Palace), that's why they wanted Rooney, but didn't get it. Out of most of the games against defensive teams, the midfielders created decent chances but they don't have a spectacular striker to pass to. That's what Mou has been moaning this season, but what do you expect him to do as a coach? Put the ball in the net himself?
The fact that Chelsea have made it this far is down to Mou's genius and Chelsea still will not finish too far behind 1st position

Liverpool - Manchester City at Anfield will be played on April 13... two days before the 25th Anniversary of the Hillsborough Disaster and on the weekend when PL clubs will have late kick-offs and minutes of silence in remembrance.
Assuming Liverpool beat West Ham (which is certainly not a forgone conclusion) the atmosphere at Anfield for that match will be absolutely unbelievable.

Re: Barclay's Premier League discussion '13-'14 V10
Chelsea's strikers are nowhere near as bad as Mourinho makes out.
Not their fault Chelsea have no idea how to get the best from their strikers.... even Drogba only scored 20+ twice in 8 years.
Fact of the matter is Chelsea only have one creative player and their midfield is probably the worst set up imaginable for a striker to shine in.... the midfield takes up all the strikers space and is extremely ball dominant in that sort of set up its not easy for a striker to shine.
I suppose its easier just to say " herp derp we have no strikers doe"

On the other hand, I think it's a little difficult to be the striker in this Chelsea team. The AMs like to keep the ball quite a lot and as the striker, you end up playing with your back to the goal a lot. For this particular Chelsea team I think you need either a skillful striker who can turn quickly in tight spaces (e.g. Suarez or Aguero) or a target man who can get a shot or header off first-time or lay it off for one of those AMs. In that role, someone like Carroll*, Dzeko or Mandzukic would be great. Torres nor Eto'o aren't really of either mold.
* scored a great header against Sunderland some moments ago, btw

Need West Ham to win ffs. Need them to completely be comfortable and not worry about getting any points against us next weekend.

I love Andy and will support him every step of the way. But I can't say I'm mourning his loss in Liverpool.

Nolan is such a horrible player... an opportunistic poacher AM with zero skill. You could play Altidore in his role and he'd get decent stats. A few moments ago it was only Howard Webb's shitty form of this season that kept Nolan from conceding the stupidest handball penalty of the season.

Same, he's a likable bloke. I was wishing against all odds that he would make it with us but at the end everyone made the right decision letting go.

Re: Barclay's Premier League discussion '13-'14 V10
even horrible Nolan?
imo he 's a player capable of good things and negative things at same moment , it depends on matchdays (Shelvey-esque) , there are matches where he is the West Ham , there are other matches where he should be on bench
typical midfielder perfect for Fantasy Premier League...
About the reality good for the West Ham's dimension . As Carroll of course . Caroll is a player adapted to relegation battle and not more imo ( and perfect for Allardyce 's game . ) , still schocked to think he was the starter for England to Euro2012 tbh
