I've been in contact with Josep Gombau and will probably be interviewing him sometime this month before he returns to Adelaide. He seems very nice. How weird having his email and phone number Very Happy

How are we feeling about the WC?

Any teams other than Australia you're going for?

Scared sh*tless for us atm. I think we could have surprised some people if it was not for the garbage luck we've had. Horrible group and now we have 2/3 most important players out in Kruse and Williams, and then Good, who would have started in place of him at CB, now out too. Leaves us with a young back 4 who have never played together...

I think Ange is doing a good job, but ultimately we'll need some time to gel, and we don't really have it. Just hope we don't catch our opposition when they're firing and hopefully the boys can work really hard in the next 2 weeks. Hoping for some positive performances and hopefully a few goals. The points aren't really an issue for me... When it comes down to it, I'll really want a win or draw, but I won't be unhappy if we come away with zero points having played well.

Now we're building to the Asian Cup and hopefully we have luck with injuries and some of these players breaking through get a clean run leading up to that... Ryan, Davidson, Williams, Rogic, Kruse, Oar etc... these guys all look like they've got very good futures if they can have some luck and stay fit. There are more names to add to that, but these guys will hopefully all be starters at the Asian Cup... and with some more experience and refinement, I see us being very competitive there.

Agree with Kizz on everything. I think the best possible outcome for Aus is to finish 2nd, but even that will be extremely difficult. Much will depend on the result in the 1st game. If we beat Chile and scrounge a draw against the Dutch we could go through.
