Actually. Last time I was in Melbourne was Feb 2013.
Next time I fly is to NZ, and I go directly to Auckland. Sadly!

Re: The Official Talk About Whatever Thread
Just bombed a 35% midterm so badly
I knew the answers the second I looked at my notes after class but I tried cramming everything too late when I was studying, then got confused and answered questions completely incorrectly. This is the type of test I should have got an A+ on and I'm going to fail.
I'm actually having to figure out right now whether I want to drop the course and get a VW on my degree or if I want to stay in it and lose the scholarship money, because there's maybe a 10% chance my average will be high enough now
Which is the better option, lads: 1) $1,000 and having to retake the course with a VW being put on my record, or 2) $0 and getting it over with now?

That sucks, Eman.
Neither of those options sound particularly good.

Re: The Official Talk About Whatever Thread
On second thoughts .. I think I'd drop it and get the Volkswagon, could probably sell it for more than my scholarship if it was a good one.

Re: The Official Talk About Whatever Thread
Sadly I do not receive a free Volkswagon for dropping a course
VW means 'Voluntary Withdrawal.' They just put it on your degree transcript so if in the future anyone looks at my grades throughout university, it will show that I chose to drop the course, which is easily explainable of course but I'd rather avoid the question of why I dropped it.
Still, unless I actually do fail the midterm, I won't drop the course I've decided. I've just let myself get selfish about good grades - it's not the end of the world to do badly once in a while.

I need an 84% average and I only have 4 classes this semester, so less than an A in any one class could drag me down since I don't think I'll be getting 90's in any course (lots of group work). I've always managed to reach this average before and I'm in my last year of school, so as minor as I suppose this is being the one midterm I've bombed for my whole degree, it would ruin the flawless record.beatrixasdfghjk. wrote:What's the average you need for your scholarship?

Seeing as it's your last year, what would happen if you repeated?

Re: The Official Talk About Whatever Thread
I could still pull it off in my last semester in the Winter, after my final co-op term this Fall, so it wouldn't really mess me up. I only need to take 2 classes technically in the winter so there is space for it, although I was planning on taking an elective or two. Either way, it will be an easy semester.
