While CM Punk was never scripted into last Monday's RAW from Chicago, before the confirmation came down that he would not be appearing, there was some chatter or at least hope within WWE that maybe he would come out and do some kind of retirement speech or farewell.

There was also some talk of doing a four-way at WrestleMania XXX with Punk, Daniel Bryan, Batista and Randy Orton but that "just was not the situation" because of Punk choosing to stay away from the company.

It is looking more and more as though WWE will find a way to insert Daniel Bryan into the WWE World Heavyweight title match at WrestleMania XXX.

The latest company internal match lineup apparently referred to the match as a triple threat, though it did not name Bryan specifically. As we've been mentioning for a while now, they may be having Bryan wrestle Triple H earlier on the card then have him pull double duty in the title match later. Interestingly, they may actually use Hulk Hogan and his powers as host of the event to put Bryan into the match.

This has, of course, led to speculation that Bryan may lose his match against Triple H, just as Bret Hart lost to his brother Owen before going on to win the title at WrestleMania X.

Batista kicks off SmackDown with a promo until Daniel Bryan interrupts him. Kane ends up coming out and beating Bryan down. Big Show makes the save.

Vickie Guerrero comes out and makes tonight's main event - Kane and Batista vs. Show and Bryan. Batista had the spotlight back on him this time.

Christian vs. Dolph Ziggler with Alberto Del Rio on commentary is next. Christian gets the win after Del Rio distracted Ziggler from the announce table.

Batista and Kane vs. Big Show and Daniel Bryan is next. Show and Bryan cut a promo before the match and pick on their opponents. They've named their team, "Respect The Beard, Fear The Giant." Bryan and Show get the win when Show hits a knockout punch on Kane and Bryan rolls him up.

SmackDown ends with Bryan leading a "Yes!" chant while sitting on Show's shoulders.
