Re: Isco as a false 9
Big benzy cant get love after a motm performance?
What is wrong with us fans? Isco deserves to ride the bench until he can get his tactical issues sorted out..

Re: Isco as a false 9
Don't think Isco has the tactical know-how to pull off the rather intricate position that is the False nine. The french billy goat is doing his thing well so this really is a badly timed thread...

Re: Isco as a false 9
Benzema was excellent yesterday Isco in all his sub appearances bar against Elche has been woeful. Why should HE be played over Benzema???
This is actually the first time Benzema is in contention fir MOTM and people are trying to convince ushe wasn't good enough. Sure he missed many chances but I like the fact he got into position to take them in the first place and not somewhere in between our midfielders. smh

Re: Isco as a false 9
Well, Carlo's now talking about getting Isco to adapt to be like a new Clarence Seedorf... Be patient and see if Carlo can change his playing style effectively. The great thing about Isco is that he certainly possesses a lot of talent and a ridiculous foray of skills. And, he's still very young (ergo adaptable).
I would be excited to see what becomes of him, if Carlo can pul it off. Because Isco could develop into the ideal compliment to Modric.
Obviously, at this point though, Isco cannot replace any of our regular starters (Front 3 and midfield 3 are unstoppable) atm, but if he gets a few minutes, he could prove a better fit to the puzzle than Di Maria or even (although, frankly unimaginable) Luka Modric.

Re: Isco as a false 9
I can see him taking Di Maria's role, however not Modric. Isco isn't really a deep CM who starts attacks etc. More of a final third player player/attacking CM.

Re: Isco as a false 9
He is young... We can't expect results immediately. Carlo is great at developing midfielders, along with Seedorf he was vital to Pirlo's development aswell. Isco will shine for us next season and become even greater the season after (if i have to predict)

Re: Isco as a false 9
Just tried Isco as a False 9 on Fifa and it was terrible.
So this won't work.

Re: Isco as a false 9
hmm i'm not sure i can warm up to the idea of isco as a false 9. People throw that 'false 9' idea around like any attacking midfielder can just slot into that role and make something happen when that isn't the case. The truth is, a false 9 is burdened with the task of being able to score or convert chances as well. imo isco should be a back up to james, and another forward signed.
i'm not sure how this will help his development; last season he started as an attacking midfielder. then later carlo wanted him to adapt a more central role ala seedorf, now false 9...he is slowly becoming a jack of all trades and could turn out to become another version of guti- an eternal promise with flashes of brilliance who played multiple positions, and only had two seasons as a starter, thus had his consistency hampered

I actually used Hames as a false 9 at monaco on one of my games, then proceeded to sell him to Madrid for 80m after he beasted
The similarities are uncanny

Re: Isco as a false 9
We tend to forget that Isco is still young... Young players are adaptable.
Not to say that any young player can adopt any set of skills... but Carlo knows what he's doing. I'm sure he would ask for another striker if he thought he needed one...

Re: Isco as a false 9
Carlo: I need a back up striker who is decent enough, accepts the bench, and doesn't come with a baggage or lots of expectations.
