Íñigo at it again in the 1-1 draw vs Osasuna. Could have been his 3rd long range shooter from the half-way line as only the crossbar saved the inhumane dip that this particular shot reached. Wish I could find a better angle in GIF form.

Re: Not Worthy of a Thread Mk. II
The death of the 43 yearold Djurgården supporter, yesterday before the match between Helsingborg and Djurgården in the city of Helsingborg, has startled the swedish people which has caused them to organize a manifestation against football related violence. The place where the incident occured has, today, regularly been visited by people. Footballfans as well as non fotballfans. The swedish police have also held a pressconference where they explained that the murderer has yet to be found and also that several suspects and witnesses have been interviewed with no positive result. The police are also encourageing people to contact them if they have any information of the occurence at all. The murderer still walks loose on the streets of Helsingborg. Helsingborgs IF posted, on their official FaceBook page, a photo of the scene of the incident covered in scarves and flowers placed there by Helsingborg-fans and other neutral fans of football. Djurgården IF are devestated by the loss of the innocent 43 yearold father of 4 and postponed todays training session. Outside the arena in Stockholm fans have been visiting the place where the small ceremony was held the night before and keep hanging up scarves and jerseys. In social media the hashtag #DetRäckerNu has been trending and means : We’ve had enough. And truly so, Sweden has had enough.

That death of a football fan - in Sweden nonetheless - might have warranted a thread of its own, but a horrible, sad tragedy. Can't stand those fans who use football fandom as an excuse for violence.

Leaked! Sir Alex Ferguson’s face set to appear on new Manchester United home shirt in bold move from Nike
Tuesday 1 Apr 2014 5:01 am
Pictures of Manchester United’s new home shirt have been leaked, with the design set to mount the pressure on under-fire boss David Moyes.
The ‘Moyes out’ debate took off on Saturday when a group of United supporters hired a plane to fly over Old Trafford with a banner calling for his removal as manager.
And now Nike seem to have put a further nail in Moyes’ coffin, with the sensational design of United’s new home strip for next season.
The classic red shirt, with a white collar, has been jazzed up with a picture of former boss Sir Alex Ferguson faded into the fabric. The collar also features the initials ‘AF’.
The pictures, leaked today, are certainly set to raise a few eyebrows around Old Trafford.

Re: Not Worthy of a Thread Mk. II
Gonzalo Higuain explained why he opted to join Napoli rather than Arsenal or Juventus. “They wanted to build a winning team.”
The striker left Real Madrid and sparked a bidding war throughout Europe until he eventually signed for the Partenopei.
“When a man like Aurelio De Laurentiis spends that much money to have you, you can’t help but be grateful,” Pipita told In Casa Napoli.
“I thank Real Madrid, where I spent seven years and learned so much from players like Van Nistelrooy, Raul and Cristiano Ronaldo, but last summer I realised it was time for a change of scenery.
“I chose Napoli because this city is fantastic for anyone who plays football. Did Juve want me? When I heard that I was going to leave Spain, I was linked with many sides including Juve, but I chose Napoli and they wanted to build a winning team.”
Yet Napoli are 17 points adrift of Serie A leaders Juventus and crashed out of the Europa League.
“The construction of a great side requires time and hard work. Against opponents of the calibre of Juventus, Borussia Dortmund or Arsenal, Napoli always put in great performances.
“In the League we dropped too many points against smaller clubs. It is an issue of concentration, experience and winning mentality that is earned over time.
“Juventus and Roma are protagonists of a fantastic season, but our campaign has also been very positive. Don’t forget Napoli changed Coach, many players and the tactical system. Now we are third in Serie A and in May we’ll play Fiorentina in the Coppa Italia Final.
“We are truly a family in this squad and the atmosphere is fantastic. I am not the Italy Coach, but if Lorenzo Insigne went to the World Cup it’d be wonderful for him and for Napoli.”

Re: Not Worthy of a Thread Mk. II
A 9th division match in Italy between the clubs Castello and Alviano has to be played again because the referee sent off the wrong twin.
Source: http://www.blick.ch/sport/fussball/international/schiri-schickt-falschen-zwilling-vom-platz-id2774099.html
(I still think Jogi Löw should nominate just one of the Bender twins and take both along, that way having one secret extra player )

Re: Not Worthy of a Thread Mk. II
Fortunately for us we have better players and the rest of La Liga isn't as competitive as the rest of the PL.
Arsenal would be 2 points behind first if they beat Stoke, Swansea and Everton.
Overall though we really need to improve in the big games. We were lucky Dortmund aren't as good as last season and they were missing half their team. Anyway I can still see us winning the CL regardless of our weaknesses.
