Re: Arsenal Vs Manchester United
If you don't win against this Utd team, at home, at this point, you don't deserve to be champions. simples.

Phil Jones should be back for this match, and sadly, also what Hans has said.

Re: Arsenal Vs Manchester United
From the sound of this, we will see the same line up.
http://www.arsenal.com/news/news-archive/-you-have-to-keep-things-in-perspective-Wenger“After a big disappointment like that you always sit there, thinking, ‘Do I make five or six changes or do I give them a chance to show it was just an accident?’ And most of the time you give the players a chance, especially if they have done well before.
“If there is a continuity of a bad patch you have to change things, but if it is just one game, most of the time you give the players a chance to [put things right”
“It is a good opportunity to respond straight away and that is what we want to do,” he said. “I can talk and talk and talk, [but] it is action that will decide that.
“This group, you would never question their professionalism. Maybe they wanted to do so well [against Liverpool] that they were a bit too cautious, I don’t know.”

Santi - Even Ozil can suffer a dip
http://www.arsenal.com/news/news-archive/santi-even-ozil-can-suffer-a-dip"I don’t think the winter break is a big factor," Cazorla said. "The truth is every player has a little dip at some point in the season, it’s very difficult to always be on top form.
"The problem Mesut [Ozil] has is when he’s on form everyone can play off him and when his form drops a bit, he is missed.
"You have to make him feel appreciated and give him the confidence he needs, he’s a key player for us and let’s hope that he gets back on form. We all have great confidence in him."
"The good thing about football is there's always another game and the sooner the better," he said. "On top of that, we have a one against a great rival like Man United who are Premier League champions.
"It will be very difficult of course but what better chance to turn things around than by beating United in front of the home crowd?"

Re: Arsenal Vs Manchester United
Dennis Bergkamp failed to score OR assist in his first six league games at Arsenal. Signed for Arsenal in June 1995, scored his first (and second) goals for Arsenal on 23 September 1995 in a home game vs Southampton
just to put Ozil's performance thus far for us into perspective

Re: Arsenal Vs Manchester United
Some of you lot here need to realise that you are facing a Moyes United, not Fergie's. Our great record against you lot is down to Fergie. Moyes is making us break records for all the wrong reasons.
And I know we beat you lot earlier in the season, but we have massively regressed since then. Very low in confidence.
The only light in the tunnel (for me) is that we have RVP, Rooney and Mata who all seem to play well v Arsenal. But that light quickly extinguishes when I realise it will be pointless having them when we resort to Moyes' wonderful tactics of aimlessly crossing an infinite amount of crosses per game, thus negating their threat.
I hate admitting this because it's new territory for me as a United fan when it comes to this fixture, but I can't see past nothing but an Arsenal victory. We'll play negatively, park the bus and try to counter, but we are so ineffective in the final 3rd and so slow in our build up that it won't matter anyways. we can't create chances if our lives depended on it.
Honestly you lot don't win this, you will never ever beat us again. Ever. lol
Also agree with what Hans said.

THE BIGGEST GAME OF THE SEASON BY A MILE AGAINST MAN U..
Still don't feel confident, we don't do well in big games. The most would b a draw imo.

Re: Arsenal Vs Manchester United
Well, I guess there is one good thing (perhaps) about the Liverpool thrashing. I reckon that the team will be really motivated to beat Yanited after that Liverpool match and if the team is pro-active and very motivated then we can win. However if the team is still down after that match then we'll probably get slaughtered, or atleast lose. But i got a good feeling that the team really wants to set things straight again, so I actually believe we'll win, but i'm expecting a loss somehow.
A win would be massive though, would really give the team confidence at a crucial time of the season

You lot had better win today - cannot stand the thought of our trophy ending up at Anfield or the Etihad again.
If you fail to beat us tonight then each and every player who started for you should be dragged out and have their left bollock forcefully removed with a pair of pliers.

Re: Arsenal Vs Manchester United
It will be a tight game, with Mata threatening the Arse in short bursts and possibly a goal from a set piece.
Carrick will probably be on Ozil killing duty and Wilshere will let his passions get the best of him making it a frustrating time for Arsenal fans.
My money would be on Carzola, but if he doesn't play at his best tonight then I see it being a draw or defeat for us.

Re: Arsenal Vs Manchester United
how would this work
Özil getting away from center and find space and also better to keep the ball in the role like he did vs Dortmund while Mid 3 do the job collectively and have Giroud and Poldi to feed/or play off them
anything but Arteta-Wilshere midfield
that 2-1 defeat vs this very same bunch at ot was so awful performance

I can guarantee you that, Man u will have one half to do what ever they want with us. No mater what happens Wenger will be happy with the result as long as its a improvement from the Liverpool game.
Wenger will say " we played well, only lost by 3 goals that's an improvement and next game we will make things right."

Joking aside. If you played under Wenger, you would appreciate his "look on the bright side" approach to commenting on a bad game.

Re: Arsenal Vs Manchester United
@anh165 I know.
This can be said about every player we have other than Podolski who loves to shoot first. I wish we can change this, Ozil has a good shot and if he starts taking his chances he can change the game.
"sometimes he is too obsessed with making the perfect pass when he could take a shot at goal" Wenger on Ozil.

Re: Arsenal Vs Manchester United
All I want to talk about really is more about the situation we find ourselves in at this moment and not the match itself.
This is it. We've been here before. Remember few seasons ago when we were in all competitions and then everything just faltered within 2/3 weeks. Remember 07/08. Not very much similar to the earlier example, but still we were leading the pack and then the same thing happened in the month of February through on to March, the same thing that we're all concerned about that might just be its "inevitable" time to happen again - faltering. We faltered massively that season and the same in the 09/10 season.
So this is it. Will it be that time again. The time where we falter and fall away from every trophy challenge. We all knew that this could happen when we looked at the February fixture list. It was always (99%) going to be our "make or break" time of the season. We started off utterly disappointing against Liverpool. So this is a truer test as ever of our mental state. Is this team ready mentally? Talent and quality, is what the team has. We can beat any team if we just get it right on the day. So what will we do tonight? What will it be? Will we rise against this? Rise against all criticism and odds and show that we have the fight and heart to do this? That we can come back strong after the disappointment on Saturday. That we won't falter this season. That we are ready to do this. That this is a time of opportunity, a time where any team can step to the fore and say WE WANT TO WIN THIS, a time where we can be THAT team. And what better opposition to do it against. The team who we have suffered under so many times in the PL-era, the team who has humiliated us at times, the team who we supposedly can't play against and supposedly can't beat, the team that is still the current champions.
