'Football from the 19th century' - Mourinho hits out at West Ham tactics
Chelsea were frustrated at Stamford Bridge as Sam Allardyce's side kept the hosts at bay with a string of last-ditch blocks, with Andy Carroll operating as a lone striker
Jose Mourinho has labelled West Ham's style of play "football from the 19th century" following Chelsea's goalless draw at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday evening.
Chelsea threw everything at Sam Allardyce's side in the second half but failed to find a way past the Hammers, who were reliant on strong performances from goalkeeper Adrian, James Collins, James Tomkins and the midfield, who sat deep throughout the home sides' 39-shot onslaught.
The stalemate has left Chelsea three points behind new Premier League leaders Manchester City, who secured a 5-1 victory over Tottenham at White Hart Lane.
"This is not Premier League, this is not the best league in the world. This is football from the 19th century," Mourinho told reporters.
"It's very difficult to play a football match when only one team wants to play. A football match is about two teams playing.
"I told Big Sam, they need points. To come here the way they did, is that acceptable? Maybe it is, they need points."
Mourinho insisted there was little more his side could do to break down West Ham, who came away from Stamford Bridge with a point for only the second time since September 2002.
He joked: "The only thing I could bring more was Black & Decker - a Black & Decker to destroy the [West Ham] wall."

Can you stop mentioning Xavi because you're making Mourinho a favour.

+1!
Like I said before, I am certain that alot, not all, but alot of the people who says that they like this kind of football, only say that they like it because their team uses that style alot. Mou is obviously one of these kind of people..

This is coming from the same guy who started his team at Old Trafford without a single striker and played for a 0-0 draw.
His hypocrisy is something else.

He overestimated your lot. lol
He plays "anti football" away from home against the bigger sides so he doesn't lose out on points against his rivals.
Whole different story when he plays at SB, and plays for the win.

He was managing Madrid at a time where it was just Real vs Barca for the league. All he had to do was beat the other 36 teams and you were destined to win the league.

Re: 'Football from the 19th century' - Mourinho hits out at West Ham tactics
Mourinho won't play ofensive football , yes, but Allardyce's style game is not comparable, it is something of extreme, it is pure hoofball!
Anyway it is not a scandal of course, the West Ham had to come out unscathed , it was a golden point to avoid the relegation and The end justifies the means.
They did one's duty .
I can understand the frustration , Chelsea definitely deserved the win and don't win after this match is heavy blow , but this is the football..
Typical of West Ham United, not new to this type of heroic resistance , probably the Manchester United fans will remember West Ham - Manchester United last matchday EPL 94-95 , United needed to win but West HAm strenuously resisted and it delivered accordingly the title to Blackburn Rovers of Kenny Dalglish .
This is also the football , and it must be accepted.
this is simply the modern football , strikers who also defend....it is definitely better than positioning Philipp Lahm as DM thinking to have invented football.

This is Prime Example of ultra Mourinho fanboism.
At least Pep is man enough to stick with his Principle. I guess Playing Lahm as DM better than Sergio Ramos.

Re: 'Football from the 19th century' - Mourinho hits out at West Ham tactics
He is only known playing defensively for Inter, which was a joy to watch back then because how well everyone kept their composure, well organized, and good communications but at the same time you could have seen him apply attacking options of FBs helping attacking in the flanks providing width, Midfielders creating space for the forwards and Snejider orchestrating the attack and providing forwards with through balls and cut clear chances. It was Mou himself prior to moving Lol Liga which he said Serie A had more of an passive style of play so in other words a bit more tactical. Makes sense given, the amount of silly shit you see in La liga.
Similar style he played under Chelsea, but hes RM side was always about going all out.

I said even West Ham did simply its duty and therefore I don't agree about Mourinho's controversy... It was predictable this attitude considering the difference of quality, they had not lose, it 's a point very important for the morale too ...
Simply I don't understand why would be anti-football Eto'o who sacrifices himself for the field , yesterday I admired too much too see Suarez,Sturridge,Coutinho do this type of work , the decisive key to destroy Everton
this is simply Tactics .
