Makes sense. Matic is finally playing at a high level again, but he's not as physically dominant as he was in our 14/15 season. Has to do with the fact that he's playing with Kante with the latter assuming more of the thug and ballwinning midfielder role, while Matic is more of a ball distributor now and he's the one with the duty of bringing the ball forward to our offensive players, and thus has double the assists with half the games.

It really shows how complete of a midfielder he is. :bow:

Making sure he didn't leave over the summer was a massive win for the club

Eh I didn't mind Hiddink to be fair. Hiddink had that unbeaten record with Mikel that started in his first stint here IIRC and trusted him and Matic was completely garbage last season. Hiddink was supposed to bring stability to the club and not doing miracles and resuscitating zombies. We got Conte for that Proud

Hiddink could have played a lot more youth though, that's for sure.
