Surprise of the 16 Olympiacos vs Manchester United
last time they played Bechkam was playing for Manchester and they got streamrolled home and away. This time though , it will be very different , because it is a vastly different Olympiacos in CL experience and team quality. Olympiacos maybe doesn't have the players or the fame other big clubs enjoy in the CL , but they have grown a lot after continuous years & years in the comp.
Whilst Manchester got the 'easiest' opponent available , the truth is it is going to be far from easy to qualify , as strange as it may seem right now. Olympiacos comes from a funny league , but they aren't a funny club and they certainly don't have a funny team. They will look Manchester in the eyes , believe it or not.

Yes because losing on away goals when they were not even on the top 6 and didn't have a good defence or many of the players who are in form now = love in.
Your acting like Bayern beat them 8-0 a year ago and wasn't lucky to go through.

They wasn't.... but fact is if they do that again they'll go out
Bayern are still a very arrogant club from top to bottom, i wouldn't be surprised if they get a lead to take back to Allianz and throw it all away.

If we beat Bayern, the EPL will have to be considered the best league in the world again
And Arsene will be the best manager in the world

Re: Champions League last 16 draw discussion
Arsenal only got close because of the phantom goal in the first leg. I wonder how the second leg would have played out if Bayern had a 0:3 lead going back to the Allianz.
At this stage I'd probably want Barça, PSG, or Bayern to win the competition.

Olympiacos will be happy they got United than the other group winners. They will look at our domestic form and that will instill some belief in them.

Re: Champions League last 16 draw discussion
I think it will be not so easy for PSG to get past Leverkusen because people's judgement seems to be only based on what they did against ManUtd. But i am sure, Levekusen will be completely a different team against PSG. Although PSG will finally go through in the endrwo power wrote:PSG first need to get past Leverkusen, though.

I think its too early to say who are the favorites in even clashes - two months is a long, long time. Anything can change.. even Milan

More like the fact that Guardiola is a superb manager in CL, while Wenger has failed in this competition for nearly 2 decades.
And Bayern are a team of winners with immense depth, and in February-March, Arsenal have their most hectic schedule.
And 2 of Bayern's best players will be back (Schweini and Robben), whereas Arsenal have just lost a key defender for a lengthy time.
And yea. you've been bashing Liverpool, City and Chelsea all season praising Arsenal, but funnily Arsenal could easily be below ALL those 3 teams after 17 games played this time next week (in a few hours)
Admit that you love them as your neutral team, and get it over with mate

I remember GL going into rage when it was announced Liverpool had bid 25 million Euros for Costa.
It was deemed as, havne't they learnt their lesson? Just the Brazilian Carroll

He was more than just OK. Falcao is rightfully considered an elite CF but there were times when Costa was playing just as well as Falcao.

Re: Champions League last 16 draw discussion
I think Muntari's words were misconstrued. He said that he thought Atletico were the weakest on paper, which is actually spot on considering that the other teams Milan could have faced are Barca, United, PSG, Chelsea, Madrid, Dortmund, and Bayern.
Obviously on paper =/= what happens on the field though.
