Considering how good he's been for the NT lately, and how all of their 'star' forwards if you will are not No. 9's I think he'll definitely start.

Just to make it clear, Fred has been out since August.

Doesn't really matter as long he's performing at NT level. They can't randomly just drop him just because he's playing in the 2nd division.

Fred is an amazing striker.
If he was playing for Chelsea and scoring 35 goals a season, everyone would be raving about him as a Top 5 striker.
But just because he plays in Brazilian second division and looks a bit funny, no one rates him

Having watched quite a lot of Fred from his Ligue 1 days... he can fall in and out of form very quickly. An in form Fred is great. An off form Fred is completely useless.
So to me, it will all come down to how he looks in the months going into the WC.

So a half beaten, run down, burnt out spain, still gets to the final, then gets actually quite unlucky against brazil, which was their first loss in the knockout rounds since before 08 and your telling me brazil is gonna give spain a beating when spain have a proper striker?

Well, all they can do is call up the best few strikers at their disposal. They don't have many to chose from so Fred will probably be up there

If Pato leaves Corinthians and returns to Europe in January. He's going to be the Brazil starter in the World Cup.

Spain did get KO'ed by USA in 2009 semi-final. Anyways it will be great if Espana can lift it again and on SA turf, but highly unlikely. Will most likely be either Brazil, or Arg.

Nobody said anything about Spain in 2012.
Spain are one of the favorites, but outright favorites? Not a chance. They've already shown many times before that they're not invincible.
