I wonder how would MARCHISIO perform as a third-defender, that kind of BARZAGLI role,
I believe that defenders have extreme important role when it comes to ball possession and would really like to see someone as good as MARCHISIO in the back-line so you have high quality player who serves the ball to the midfield , instead of defenders who only search for a simple pass of the ball without risking too much

What the hell is wrong with this picture ? Marchisio is running from box to box alongside opponents with the ball at their feet without attemting anything but to keep up. He looks soo much like Pirlo in all the wrong ways.
I dont belive a team aspiring for the things Juve do can affort a player in such an important role to perform below par on such a regular basis.
Marchisio has a juve heart like very few players in history. But i see him getting slow, unsharp and a bit out of his element in the central role. He dont seem to implement his natural high work rate, very well in the center. I think he's been looking odd the whole season.

For god's sake can you stop this negativity? The team's below bar performance is acceptable at this stage. At this stage we want points, not win every match 4-5/0... 3 points is all what matters. There are other commitments too... we had to play Napoli, Inter twice and Bayern the last month man! The team won't perform at 100% in all of the small matches and you must understand that!

Stop comparing him with Pirlo please. He doesn't have the same role in this Juve. Plus he is world class DM and the most consistent performer. People like players with tricks and flashy tricks, we saw what we are with out Marchisio in the beginning of the season, most recently in the match against Inter in the Coppa.

Re: - Il Principino | Claudio Marchisio #8
pirlo is a football legend
i would say he was a king when it comes to serving the ball behind of the opponents line back like this guy here
and the reason he was good i would say is because he had that ozil kind of talent to pass the ball but he is also free kick specialist so he can do it from deep
the problem is you rarely see those kind of talents no pogba , no nobody can be that good
marchisio is good on his own ways i like his alertness, he is trustworthy, he is not that guy who gets dispossessed he has his own goods

Re: - Il Principino | Claudio Marchisio #8
i think a mistake people make is they expect to replace players and a problem is that there are players you can hardly or maybe never replace
for example Messi he is too good to be replaced but what you need to focus on is to compensate for the qualities that you need to win the game with all the team
are we winning the games? yes
this means we have compensated for the basic needs of the team
to make the team superior to the other top clubs you got to have players who have too much to contribute with
for example C Ronaldo on hiss career was full package
speed, stamina, strength, techniche, headers, shooting, so compared to other players who can only make a good shot C Ronaldo contributes much more
so he makes the team better

Marchisio is doing a top job infront of the defense. The team play so much better with him than with Hernanes or Lemina. He is not Pirlo and he shouldn't be.
Him being who he is also allows Pogba to play more forward since Pogba doesn't cover him as he did with Pirlo. Its good that the team has evolved from Pirlo's departure instead of trying to replace him, which is impossible.

Re: - Il Principino | Claudio Marchisio #8
Juventus midfielder Claudio Marchisio participates in part of Thursday’s training session...
So did Stefano Sturaro, but the emphasis here is CLAUDIO MARCHISIO...
The problem with lengthy injury absences is that it’s simply a waiting game. Players go to work each day, participate in training drills that are usually completely different than those of their teammates. We don’t get to see much of training from here on the outside, so unless we hear something to the contrary, we just assume everything is going just fine and said player is on the road to recovery.
Outside of reports surrounding a possible return date, we haven’t heard much about Claudio Marchisio’s rehab and recovery from his ACL tear that he suffered late last season. Until a couple of hours ago, that is.
From Juventus’ recap of Thursday’s training session:
Two days before the Bianconeri resume their Serie A season with this weekend’s visit of Sassuolo, Massimiliano Allegri welcomed back to training two of his players from international duty in Miralem Pjanic and Dani Alves, involved in World Cup qualifiers over the past week with Bosnia and Brazil respectively.
Meanwhile, Claudio Marchisio and Stefano Sturaro, both making recoveries from injury, were able to take part for a section of today’s session, dedicated primarily to technical and tactical drills in view of Saturday’s encounter against the Neroverdi at Juventus Stadium (kick-off at 20.45 CEST).
No offense to Stefano Sturaro here because he seems like a nice guy and all, but...
Claudio Marchisio.
Claudio Marchisio.
Claudio Marchisio.
Claudio Marchisio.
Claudio Marchisio.
Yes, even the fact that Marchisio is joining the big group for a portion of a regular training session is a big deal. That’s because the injury that Marchisio sustained last April against Palermo was anything but some kind of low-key deal. We knew pretty much right away that the recovery time was going to be lengthy and that it would drag into the next season.
We don’t truly know for sure yet when Marchisio will be back in a game. Or even taking part in a complete training session, for that matter. But this is a step, a big step, in the right direction. Whether it’s October or November, Marchisio is on the right track. This is a very, very good thing.

Awesome news.
The club said he would be back in october, looks like he is on track. Few players make as confident in performances as Marchisio. Day and night difference when he is around. The effect when he came back last season was ridiculous.
Excited for Sturaro too. I want him to succeed.

Marchisio trained with the ball and with the rest of the team.
The GOAT is coming back!
There is a video from training in this link, don't know how to link it indiidually.

My most favorite player true Juventino. I can't imagine Juve without him he is for me the true heir of ADP and Buffon. I love Chiellini too but Marchisio and Bonucci are the new Buffon and ADP for me.

Same, Marchisio is Juventus for me. My second favorite player after the GOAT Buffon. Those 2 are even above Del Piero for me.
Buffon
Marchisio
Del Piero
Bonucci or Chiellini I'm not sure. Both are great for us. I think I like Bonucci a bit more, but Chiellini has been with us for 10 years already! and was one of our top players almost from the start. Bonucci took his time to become this good, somewhere around Conte's second season. I still love it when Chiellini pulls one of his last ditch tackles or when he pushes forward vintage-left-back-style late in games or when we go behind.

Marchisio: Back after internationals
By Football Italia staff
Claudio Marchisio says he is “hoping to be available” for Juventus after the international break following a “difficult” spell out.
Marchisio has been sidelined since April with knee ligament damage, forcing him to miss Italy’s Euro 2016 campaign, but the midfielder is now back on the mend.
“I’m very well, it’s been more than two weeks that I’ve trained with the team,” he told Calciomercato.
“After the break, I hope to be available. In these six months, there have been some difficult times.
“Watching the European Championship from home wasn’t easy, but I was proud of my teammates.
“Finally these long months have passed. Many champions arrived at Juve over the summer, no-one has struck me in particular.
“The newcomers have experience and are doing well. We’ve started better this season than last and we recovered the small misstep from the first matchday of the Champions League.”

Sounds a bit risky, doesn't it.
I'd rather give him 20-25 minutes in the second half and see how that goes.
