Re: - Il Polpo Paul | Paul Pogba
You guys didn't watch Mandzu last season... he looked like a traffic pole at Atleti which is why he got benched and they signed Torres as an emergency measure. He really reminded me of Llorente in that in the span of 2 years he went from being decently mobile targetman at Bayern to becoming slower in his last year at Bayern and then concrete feet at Atleti. He couldn't make a pass to save his life either. He could only pass with his head, not his feet lol.
Maybe he rebounds at Juve.

Even Messi had one bad season. I rate Mandzu really really high. For a tall striker he really is mobile and imo he is nightmare for defenders. He is fast, has a great technique and is strong he is nothing like Llorente.
Last season he was on bad terms with Simoeone that's why he got benched. He was one of the best players in BM the season they won CL

Who is juve quality then? 31 year old Sneijder? Franco Vazquez?! Shit man... They are going slow and we will end up with cossu

He got benched at Atleti because he lacked basic technique and was far too slow. Being on bad terms with Simeone happened when he got benched as a result of this.
Hope he recovers but I don't rate him at all like I never rated llorente. At least with Tevez, the talent was unquestioned... I just thought he has gone insane lol. With Mandzu, he doesn't have the talent anymore. But maybe he looks quicker and more skilled in serie a.

Who took mandzukic's place when he was benched? Torres?

Re: - Il Polpo Paul | Paul Pogba
Yeah Torres. He rotated with Mandzu actually because neither were really lighting the world on fire. Torres was fast and passed pretty well but couldn't finish. Mandzu had decent finishing but couldn't do anything else. Atleti defend with everyone and it was too much real estate for Mandzu to be effective. La Liga style is not one where it's about crosses and aerial attack... it's more about passing on the ground. Set pieces are the only place where air attack is really important. I don't think it was a good fit at all for Mandzu.salmano9 wrote:Who took mandzukic's place when he was benched? Torres?

Oooh. But if he played more matches don't you think he would have scored more? He scored 5 in 10 CL games which is quite impressive, especially that AM didn't reach the SF.

Well it has to be up to your taste for ST's. He is far better than Llorente and faster, he bullies defenders whole game and is pressing the opposing defense even better than Tevez.
I don't care how he preformed in AM maybe it was just bad episode because prior to AM he was beast of a CF. He will score 20 goals this season IMO. Trust me he will be what he was in BM and our best transfer this season. He has it in him one bad episode is nothing, every player has it, hell even Messi was shit 2 seasons ago
For a player who scored 20 goals. 12 in league, 5 in CL, 2 in Coppa, 1 in Supercopa. 20 goals in 43 appearances or 3060' of playing time. A goal ratio of 1 to every 153 minutes and is rated as bad season IMO is quite impressive
and I am sorry sports Simone had a problem with him since game #2 he never gave him the time to gel with the team.
and teah mate I watched AM last season

Mandzukic will bang in the goals he was a fantastic signing with a good physical presence. I somehow think or hope we will end up with Nasri, all I no is we need to move fast to secure our cam or we are going to struggle to keep ahold of our best players come the end of next season when we finish 2nd or 3rd and barely make it out of the group for champions league.. I hope Marotta has something up his sleave
Huge overreaction on your part.
Ffs Calma.
Did you read Marotta and Allegri's interview yesterday ?
Both said the SAME THING..
'We will only buy a midfielder if we think he's worthy of Juve/Juve quality'
Just chill.Nasri is not Juventus material. No need to sign players just to make up the numbers.
+2 and I agree on the other post too

Re: - Il Polpo Paul | Paul Pogba
how can u say that. He started EVERY game until Jan 7 (23 starts, no sub appearances). Mandzu was the starting CF and he got every opportunity from the start of the season until the winter break... the decision was made over the winter break that we wasn't cutting it and he got benched after that.

Well yeah but the problems started after game #2 if I'm not mistaking... nonetheless as I said

Re: - Il Polpo Paul | Paul Pogba
Deadly headers. I think that is what we've been looking for for some time... LOL
We tried it with Amauri Iaquinta Matri Toni Llorente, but it never worked well hahah Well, sometimes with Llorente last season, but he wasn't that consistent.
Now we have Mandzukic, exactly what was wanted. It would have been perfect if he played with Pirlo, because of his classy set pieces I would say.

Re: - Il Polpo Paul | Paul Pogba
Take a bow son,what a game.
I dont care about the quality of the opposition today but its a fact that he's developed into a complete midfielder this year.
Early on in the season,i thought he was struggling to keep possession, releasing the ball too early, now he gives himself much more time on the ball.
Has to be said with Marchisio beside him,he plays even better, like a leader.

Re: - Il Polpo Paul | Paul Pogba
At the start it was really frustrating to see him lose possesion often. But we can say he's back on the right track and looks far more mature and calm now.
With our midfield finally finding a solid trio he doesn't have to try that hard anymore.

I won't say solid, because Khedira is very injury prone and I don't think he can play more than 2-3 matches in a row.

Its really solid, when Khedira can't play we have Sturaro and Asamoah. Any of them can fill in perfectly. Sturaro played most of our games during this win streak and Asamoah looks fantastic now, just needs some time to get fully fit.
Loving this Pogba, best midfielder in the world if he keeps this up.

I do not see a lot of Sturaro lately! I would love to. We need a new Marchisio.

Khedira and Asamoah returning limits him, but I love the kid. I'd consider playing him against Bayern, at least in the away game. He can defend better than any of our midfielders.

Not better than Marchisio trust me! Marchisio is all over the pitch when defending. He is very solid in the midfield. We started playing much better with his return from the injury.
But I agree, I think that Allegri sees something in him in Europe, just as he played him in the first leg last year against Real. He should play at least one of the legs.

Oh no doubt, I think Marchisio is our most important player. But he has more responsibilities than just defending. Sturaro has the freedom to hound everyone and press high. His games against Madrid and City were beautiful.

As I said its funny how much Pogba has grown in his role but its even funnier how dependent on Marchisio he is.
