Re: - Il Polpo Paul | Paul Pogba
Why would we spend 65 million on Diego Costa, when we can get another striker for cheaper or the same price that's just as good, if not better. For example, Aguero. Plus, we , might need a good Winger and a LB before getting another striker. I think Diego Costa would be a good buy, but not for 65 million, if we can get him for a cheaper price, that would be good because I think he works hard defensively.

65 million for Costa??? Are you fu*king kidding me??
You can get Suarez for 50 and we would bid 65 for Costa? Yeah right also let's not forget that Dzeko will be out there for lower amount of money probably Jovetic to lol

Re: - Il Polpo Paul | Paul Pogba
The Bale 100 mil transfer and the Cavani/Falcao deals going for 60+ have pushed the market much higher. Also, EPL players are always more expensive than anywhere else for whatever reason.
i don't think the main issue for Juve is the transfer fee necessarily... it's the wage. bale, cavani, falcao, aguero, ibra, etc and now suarez all make 10+ mil a year in wages.
As far as where i got 5-8 mil range for Pogba, i explained it above. agnelli said 10 days ago there was no problem keeping Pogba this winter but it would be difficult in the future as nobody in Serie A can afford wages of 5-6 mil or more. then Le Parisien said that Psg have offered 8 mil and Madrid something north of 6.
Doesn't mean that Pogba won't perhaps accept a dela of 4+ mil. but based on these rumors, it appears that there are bigger numbers for him out there than that.
Imo, juve have a dilemna: do they break their salary structure and compete with the elite or do they become Arsenal.

Breaking the salary structure at the expense of making a 20 year old one of the highest if not the highest earner in the team ? I doubt thats possible at this moment.
The likes of Marchisio,Chiellini,Pirlo,Barzagli,Buffon, almost entire squad all earn 4m or lesser. In that respect, you just cant have Pogba earning 5-6m right now.

yeah that's the thing... if you pay one, then you have to pay everyone. It's a domino effect. When and if Juve decide to really pay someone, then they should be prepared to pay everyone.
Agnelli's a smart guy and Marotta a good sporting director (recently). They'll try their best to keep him; but won't be stupid about it.

Re: - Il Polpo Paul | Paul Pogba
Agnelli is pessimistic, but we already pay Tevez more than what Pogba wants
I am sure he will leave either this Summer or the one after. As long as it's for a great price then i'm happy enough. I will always be a fan of Pogba but he came here for virtually nothing, he was on low wages and we can essentially flip him for enough money to finally buy a star attacker or two. (Including our own Summer budget and player sales)

Tevez gets paid that much because he is a known name,an experienced campaigner and our spearhead of the attack.
Paying as much wage to a 20 year old sets a bad precedent in my opinion considering there are many experienced players in the team who are pretty low on wages. Its not like we cant afford to pay him 5-6m a year but i think they are well aware of repercussions of it,you know,a domino effect happening like Sports says.

It ultimately comes down to Paul.He should not be greedy about it and it wont be long before he'll get a big contract should he agree to stay with us for a few more years. It just sucks that he is a client of that fat prick who can easily influence his decisions.

I get that, but when he says "Nobody can afford those wages" and we have a guy earning exactly that on our payroll then it's kind of stupid.
We should offer him 4M. No more.

I just think Agnelli's being a bit polite there imo because in reality he knows that there will be a number of players in the team who'll ask for parity if Pogba gets to earn that much,so he's kind of diverting the attention to Serie A's financial state instead,is what i assume.

Every player goes for the money as long as a big club is calling and he gets to play... that's just how it is. Only guys that stay loyal are the team youth products or Italians who want to stay in Italy. Other than that, it's just about being a professional. Everyone here would gladly jump at a job offer that gives you 2x the wages and the same ambition if not more. I don't think you can blame Pogba at all if he decides to go for the money.

Just in from Di Marzio, the only news source i really happen to trust.
http://www.gianlucadimarzio.com/calciomercato/juventus-continues-to-work-on-pogbas-extension/
Di Marzio wrote:Juventus continues to work on Paul Pogba’s extension. Paris St Germain’s interest is real, and the words of their president Nasser Al-Khelaifi from yesterday confirm it. But Juve continues to be focused on it’s own strategy: their objective is to extend Pogba’s deal while giving him a raise to help avoid him being tempted by mercato opportunities. Within Juventus there is cautious optimism the deal will be completed despite PSG’s interest.

Juve working on Pogba extension
Juventus are working behind the scenes to tie down Paul Pogba to a long-term contract, reports suggest.
Respected Sky journalist Gianluca Di Marzio has written on his official website this evening that the Bianconeri are continuing to try and get the France international to commit to the club.
Paris Saint-Germain are said to be extremely keen on signing the youngster, but Juve are optimistic that Pogba will sign on the dotted line soon.
The Turin outfit have already tied Arturo Vidal to a new deal this season, and are hoping to do the same with the 20-year-old in the near future.

Re: - Il Polpo Paul | Paul Pogba
If Pogba loves the club, he would accept a 3-4m long term contract..
if he wants 5m+ why would we bother? He wants money? Let him go to P$G or Man $hity
But we won't let him go for less than 40m

well, pogba could also say that if you love him, you should pay him 5+mil
love in football is proportional to how much you pay your players.

But maybe he should also stay patient no ? And not jump at the first sight of a lucrative wage offer. He's only goddamn 20.If he commits to us,he's definitely going to get a bigger contract in due time. That time is going to surely come.
He owes us a lot.We gave him the opportunity to shine here.Pogba should not be making hasty decisions.Him continuing here for a few more seasons is whats good for his career.
Again ,i'm not opposed to a sale but its definitely not my first option.

Juve: 'We won't sell Pogba'
Juventus dg Beppe Marotta reiterated “we’ve no intention of selling Paul Pogba. On the contrary, he’ll renew his contract.”
The French midfielder arrived on a free transfer from Manchester United and has quickly climbed through the ranks to become a key figure for both club and country.
“There is nothing more to add,” Marotta told Tuttosport when asked about a Paris Saint-Germain offer.
“We’ve no intention of selling Pogba. On the contrary, he’ll renew his contract.”
Negotiations to extend the 20-year-old’s deal are at an advanced stage.
Meanwhile, the paper also suggests Juve’s January transfer targets include Cagliari midfielder Radja Nainggolan, Parma winger Jonathan Biabiany and Manchester United’s Nani.
