Re: Spurs vs. Liverpool
Mole, Gerrard, Sturridge and Enrique are out. Our striker isn't going to score without service. Coutinho is pretty much the only creative player in this squad after Luis. I'll be surprised if he has an influence after Sandro has pretty much said he's going to target Liverpool's "Ronaldinho".
Our midfield has only really dominated two games in Fulham and West Ham where both those games were at home. Keep in mind our midfield has consisently played like how we vsed Newcastle when your lot had 10 men. Surely you'd have to say we were average that game. We're horrible on the road.
There is hope though. Rodgers changed back to his philosophy at the end of the West Ham game to play more attacking possession (also known as the pass and move / Liverpool way) so let's hope he continues that and doesn't drop it for another counter attacking game....

Re: Spurs vs. Liverpool
True but Spurs are not clinical at all, you won't need much of the ball to be effective it may not be great to watch but on the day i can see it being effective.
I hope you win anyway, i want to go above Spurs again

I hope they dont play Defoe, it would favour us with Soldado's start

Really really hope for Agger/Sakho partnership.
If Hendo does miss out this match, I could definitely see Rodgers reverting back to a back 3.

I dont think so, he would be knowing we need MF to match any bit to their MF. I think BR would start Alberto as RM/RW or he will go with Moses asking Coutinho to start in the center

yeah looks like it, very glad. Can't lie I have been hoping to see Hendo, Allen, Lucas midfield for once at least this season.

Re: Spurs vs. Liverpool
A midfield trio should always have one of the following for balance:
A) A defensive minded (anchor/DM/destroyer)
B) one defensive minded playmaker (DLP)
C) an attacking minded player / or box to box that helps going forward (playmaker/attacking midfielder/goal scorer).
There's no "attacking minded" player out of Hendo, Allen and Lucas. It won't work. Coutinho needs to play that "1" infront of the "2" with Hendo out wide tucking in.

iftikhar wrote:What is the big problem in starting both Agger and Shako!!! If you can have two right-footed players what's wrong with two left-footed players!!!
it is not exactly the same thing anyway... the left-footed player basically has more difficult to use the other foot ( in this case the right ) than the right footed player , or rather the left footed player basically uses ONLY his feet and never right feet and accordingly he more difficulties to adapt to other area of the field..... for this a coach usually doesn't play with 2 left centre back.
About the match ...it is difficult to predict a result, I would think to Liverpool victory if you played at Anfield but White Hart Lane is terrible for the Reds , I don't remember the last victory there.

bad news really Gerrard' s injure, luckily for reds Vertonghen's injure a bit "compensates" it , but however Liverpool is not lucky this year .. before Johnson and Coutinho, now Sturridge and Gerrard, all for a month or more all players hardly replaceable in squad

Hendo fit to play.
Rodgers has suggested that Suarez may captain as Agger might not make the starting XI. (He's not injured.)

Not sure how i feel about Suarez as captain, hopefully it gets the best out of him, hopefully he understands what an honor it is to wear the band.

Re: Spurs vs. Liverpool
we are already out of top 4 in the table right now...play like a last game of the season fffs and win it somehow, i seriously wont mind another 1-0 result. it will be great motivation for the rest of the december if we win this one

Re: Spurs vs. Liverpool
As the table stands now, we win its straight to second, draw 4th and losing means 5th.
Tottenham last 5 home matches saw them win 1 draw 2 and lose 2 while our own last five away matches is same as their last five home matches. Its a close call but unless someone other than suarez scores it might be a bad day at the office(obviously am on a high now after watching mancity trample arsenal)

Losing here wont help us in the run, We'll fall into the mix for 5th and 6th while we still have to play City and Chelsea away, Which isnt an ideal scenario right now.

It's winning games like this that makes all the difference come the end of the season. If we win, we'll go second. If we lose, we'll be fifth, equal on points with Spuds but ahead on goal difference.
As a fan, I'll not be unconcerned if we lose THIS because even though we may not be the odds-on favorites to win this, this is probably our best chance of breaking the WHL voodoo. Given our start to the season and the way the teams around us are performing (with many of them having new managers), we have a very much realistic shot at the top 4 at this moment and as such we should be winning these games which are basically six-pointers.

Should be a really good game. Quite an important and telling game for both Spurs and Liverpool so both teams should be willing to go at it and get the win.

My most hated fixture ever.
Has 2-1 or 3-1 win for Spurs all over it.

Aye, why bother showing up on sunday eh. Just call the PL and tell them to add 3 points and +3 difference to Spurs point tally as we forfeit the game.
We can't play away, we will never ever play well away in our life time. It's not fixable. We are done. The woe is us. The second placed team in the league after 15 games.
Your AMAZING Chelsea and Man City teams you always used to bash our team with have 3 and 2 away wins respectively. More or less same as ours.
Every single team in PL bar Arsenal, Spurs, and Newcastle have been poor away from home this season.
As long as we don't play that ridiculous 3-5-2 , we will give Spurs a very tough game. I am certain of that. Gerrard or no Gerrard.

He wore it at Ajax.
He's also wore it at Liverpool before.
No problems with him as captain.
