Re: FA Cup Draws
They're beatable. Though they have the advantage of not having to worry about midweek CL fixtures

Re: FA Cup Draws
3 home games vs United, Liverpool and Bayern in space of 7 days .
Surely, you guys have to start likes of Yaya Sanogo and Bendtner for the FA Cup game ?

Re: FA Cup Draws
The problem is not the difficulty of facing Liverpool. I'm more pissed with how that adds to our already stacked fixture listKogallo wrote:They're beatable. Though they have the advantage of not having to worry about midweek CL fixtures

Re: FA Cup Draws
Last time Arsenal had a home FA Cup tie before facing Bayern in CL, they lost to Blackburn
Jokes aside, it was a fixed draw. Warm balls if I ever saw one, to ensure there are plenty of average teams in the last 8 with the best 4 teams facing each other.

Tbh, it helps that you don't have to do that much travelling, after the first game against us it's just two trips to the north (Stoke & Everton) and one visit to Munich, the other 8 games are in London.

Biggest piss take ive ever seen from a fixture schedule. That's it, we have to send b teams out in the fa cup and champions league, not even joking, may as well treat the Bayern games as dead rubbers and stay afloat in the prem. I hope wenger has learnt from the 10/11 season where he admitted it was his fault for going for all the trophies around the Christmas / new year time, overloading players and as a result being shet for the last few months of the season. This is a different situation but the same principle applies.
Fck, thinking about this I can believe wenger didn't even rest key players against fooking Coventry

Or does it go down to penalties from now on after a draw?

Re: FA Cup Draws
All tough draws... Pl teams vs pl teams.. Top teams vs top teams.. Big teams will knockout themselves... So if we win we have a good chance of winning the cup...
atleast good that we didnt draw city or chelsea.. liverpool at home is winnable...

Re: FA Cup Draws
I'm just waiting for the FA Cup game to be announced as a Friday or Monday fixture now.
Liverpool will be very difficult opposition, but I would still consider us favourites. With a fixture list like that, though, I worry about the mental burden that's going to be placed on players.
What I think may help us is if Wenger avoided playing players for more than three or four consecutive games. We must especially use those games against Sunderland, Stoke and Swansea to heavily rotate and give key or tired players a break. If we end up a situation where several players have played seven or eight straight games, we're going to be in trouble.
So basically, make use of the squad we have and keep players as fresh as possible, where possible.

Re: FA Cup Draws
Definitely going to have to see reinforcements. Idgaf if it's a loan or permanent but we need to have as many fresh faces as possible.
As Art said, it's being overlooked that we at least won't have to travel for two weeks after Liverpool away.
This is going to be the most incredibly difficult schedule I've ever seen Arsenal get.

Re: FA Cup Draws
Here's a question for you lot for the February games. If you were given the choice right now of beating both United and Bayern at home but losing both matches to Pool, would you take it (also assuming you beat both Palace and Sunderland during Feb)?
