Champions League Matchday 5 Empty Champions League Matchday 5

Post by Jay29 Tue Nov 26, 2013 3:20 am

Tuesday:

Zenit vs Atletico
Steaua vs Schalke
Basel vs Chelsea
Arsenal vs Marseille
Dortmund vs Napoli
Celtic vs Milan
Ajax vs Barcelona
Porto vs Austria Wien

-- Zenit will qualify if they win and Porto lose
-- Chelsea will qualify if they win; they'll win the group if Schalke fail to win
-- Arsenal will qualify if they beat Marseille and Dortmund fail to beat Napoli
-- Napoli will qualify if they beat Dortmund, regardless of Arsenal's result
-- Barcelona will win the group if they beat Ajax
-- Milan will qualify if they beat Celtic and Ajax lose

Wednesday:

CSKA vs Bayern
Man City vs Plzen
Leverkusen vs Man Utd
Shakhtar vs Sociedad
Madrid vs Galatasaray
Juventus vs Copenhagen
Anderlecht vs Benfica
PSG vs Olympiakos

-- Bayern will only need a point to win the group if City fail to win; they'll need a win if City draw
-- Man Utd will qualify if they win and Shakhtar lose
-- Leverkusen will qualify if they win and Shakhtar lose
-- Madrid only need a point to win the group
-- PSG will win the group if they beat Olympiakos
-- Olympiakos will need a point to qualify if Benfica lose

Don't think I've missed anything.

Predictions?

Napoli v BVB is a must watch imo. There's a chance the game will be boring but I have a feeling it'll deliver some excitement.

Goatdrid will probbaly field some of our youngsters against Gala, so I'm excited to see how they do.

Napoli v Dortmund was good and entertaining, but since this one is Dortmund v Napoli, I just think the Germans will be too good for Napoli and win rather easily.

Even if you do think that it's still worth watching, because a) BVB winning is fun to see because of how they play and b) it would be fun to see if they didn't win because well that was the "expected" outcome.

Marseille is fielding a B-team: no Thauvin, Valbuena, Payet or Fanni. Easy game for Arsenal imo.

Ajax 2-1 against Barca definitely a shock result.

Dortmund 3-1 Napoli
Arsenal 2-0 Marseille.

98% of a chance that Dortmund will beat Marseille in the last match. Napoli will then need to win by 3 goals or more to qualify. If Dortmund fails to win against Marseille then Napoli will just need to win. If somehow Marseille win against Dortmund then Napoli will need a draw.

In simple words. Napoli MUST win against Arsenal to have any chance of going through. Arsenal 90% qualified. So are Dortmund

Just wonderful of Barca to lose vs this mediocre Ajax, just when we needed them to win. Quite a clueless side in the CL without Messi leading their line.

As for Marseille's group, its over as Dortmund will not lose to this Marseille in Germany while Benitez always struggles vs Wenger. Dortmund and Arsenal the group winners.

Kaka our MOTM for the 7th time as he lead Milan to another win, at the heart of all our creative plays. Was the only one unperturbed by the cauldron atmosphere of Celtic park and served testament through his fortitude.

Arsenal-Marseille
Ajax-Barcelona OR

I don't know how the channels pick games for telecast :-s

I am guessing you are talking about Bangladesh. First priority is always given to PL clubs and Madrid/Barca as they have the most fans.
