Laliga: The best get no real test
i agree, the competition in laliga is pathetic imo, those three teams are top class but they can be stop with a little organisation and hard work, recent performances in the cl against these teams have proven this. imo atm in term of overall quality laliga is 4th behind epl, bundes and seria A.

Re: Laliga: The best get no real test
Three horse league.
Yeah the best quality league in the world is some 6th division in Bulgaria or something because it's the most even.
Spain is top in the UEFA-rankings, which ranks the relative performance in Europe. This season Barca, R.Madrid, A.Madrid, Sevilla, Betis, Valencia all lead their groups, with just one loss.

Exactly. They're in the Europa league, so no point in bringing them up as proof of Spain's European dominance

Surely english clubs compete in Europa League too, don't they? Are they all leading their groups?Lex wrote:Exactly. They're in the Europa league, so no point in bringing them up as proof of Spain's European dominance

Re: Laliga: The best get no real test
People underrating teams outside th top 2, now top 3 teams? wow, never seen that before.
This is pretty much the same as when people underrated the talent outside the top 2, even though the other teams had players like Villa, Mata, Silva, Negredo, Aguero, Michu, Javi Martinez etc. They still said that outside Barca/Madrid, no team had any WC talent, yet the moment they left for the PL, they became good to WC players.

Because Atleti has defeated Real Madrid at the Bernabeu, in a game in which they should have scored atleast 3 more goals, and almost defeated us in the supercup.andiii wrote:i dunno if i'm out of the loop or anything... but why is it being called a 3 horse league? surely it's 2 MAX (yes i know where A.Madrid are in the table)

Re: Laliga: The best get no real test
oh, so it is because of where they are in the table? i know they're doing well, but to go from calling it a 2 horse league to a 3 horse league is a bit premature. surely the saying comes from those teams being capable of winning the league... something AM have not done at all yet. RM have demonstrated they can recently so atm it's still 2 imo

Re: Laliga: The best get no real test
Of course they don't
Barca are strolling the league while Messi is spending more time with his new born son than his playing
Its not a surprise though as outside the top 3 all the best players were sold and are thus now garbage, the league lost a lot of talent in the summer leading to a even more top heavy league than it already was.

no, it's because they are playing at a smiliar level as the other 2 and they have shown that they have it in them to defeat the big boys..andiii wrote:oh, so it is because of where they are in the table? i know they're doing well, but to go from calling it a 2 horse league to a 3 horse league is a bit premature. surely the saying comes from those teams being capable of winning the league... something AM have not done at all yet. Re: Laliga: The best get no real test
Like I said, that's what everyone were saying even with Villa, Silva, Aguero and co still playing for other teams in La Liga. People always underrated the talent in La Liga that doesn't play for the top 2. I still remember how a couple of "journalist" called D.Silva average just a couple of week before his first season in the PL and then he started to play at a high level and immiedietly dubbed him WC.Great Leader Sprucenuce wrote:Of course they don't

Re: Laliga: The best get no real test
I don't really disagree with anything they said in the video, relative to other leagues competition in la liga is a joke. However, I also think that la liga teams are hugely underrated. No one here rated Valencia or their players, yet when their stars moved clubs suddenly they were considered elite. Likewise for Malaga, Bilbao, Atleti, etc.
And it's not like huge scorelines are so rare in the EPL. Just this last weekend Spurs got battered 6-0, 2 seasons ago it was common to see Chelsea win matches 8-0 against relegation fodder. And you think Cardiff players aren't fans of RVP, Drogba, Rooney et all?

La Liga was without a doubt the best in the league at that point though and only fanboys would deny it.harhar11 wrote:Like I said, that's what everyone were saying even with Villa, Silva, Aguero and co still playing for other teams in La Liga. Not the case now, pretty much all the talent outside the big 3 has been sold to the big 3 or teams in other leagues.
Outside the top 3 could you really say there is Villa, Silva and Aguero level talents? your delusional if you say there are
Barca stroll to victory every week and Messi has hardly been fit since March, Atletico are the same 90% of the time and since Madrid sorted themselves out they have been also.
Last year it was a lot more competitive, just look at the talent lost by clubs behind Barca and Madrid teams.
Negredo, Soldado, Navas, Llorente, Illarramendi, Isco, Joaquin etc etc and hell there's a lot more i could name.
That is a lot of talent to lose and very difficult for clubs who have cash flow problems as is to recover from.

Re: Laliga: The best get no real test
The more competitive the battle to avoid relegation, the less likely teams in Europa give a shat... that's what happens in France at least. There's much more to lose by risking relegation since most clubs lack the depth to compete over 3 competitions.
Some countries take Europa much more seriously for whatever reason.
Not saying one way is right or wrong... but the fact is nobody can afford to expand their squad based on Europa payouts. Until these payout allow clubs to add additional players, the competition will not be taken seriously by several countries.

Re: Laliga: The best get no real test
I don't get it why EL cannot be taken as a test. If 4th- tier teams play there from best leagues, and Spain is leading, doesn't that mean that mid table teams in Spain are better, ergo making the league more competitive than it is given credit?

Re: Laliga: The best get no real test
Yeah agree with Moal.
This season the best players outside of big 3 are
Benat
Ander Herrara
Muniain
Xabi Prieto
Carlos Vela
Griezmann
Inigo Martinez
Rakitic
Gameiro
Banega
Sergio Canales
Suso
I struggle to think of any more, and none of them are really at the talent level of Aguero, Villa, Silva, Mata,

Big 3? When did this happen? Why are we ignoring Atleti all of a sudden?

Atleti are legit you can't ignore them.... at least while Simeone is there and the debt isn't spiraling out of control anyway.

Haven't taken the League seriously since Messi started taking weeks off and it's made no difference to Barca's play. It's almost as worthless as Europa.

I can't even watch a match that doesn't involve Madrid or Barca in La Liga anymore.
