If De Bruyne does not leave Chelsea in January
It was all too apparent today at home when Belgium lost to Colombia. De bruyne looked like a shell of himself. Waaay too important for them to be looking like hes not even in shape.
He has to leave for Belgium to have any chance next summer.

Hope he comes back to the Bundesliga, Dortmund don't exactly need him anymore but Leverkusen and Wolfsburg have been linked.

Re: If De Bruyne does not leave Chelsea in January
KDB needs his manager's confidence in order to shine. He's pretty discreet as a person so i don't see him going into a clash or something. Too talented to not play.
Better play for a mid-table club between 20-24/25 yo and then move up to a bigger one. Way better than wasting time on the bench of a so called Big club and then at 24/25 being tagged overrated and leave .

It was obvious this was going to be his state. He has no chance of competing against players signed for big money.

Oh yeah. Loan move to Leverkusen in January then permanent deal in Summer. Wonder what would be left of him in next two months :-surbaNRoots wrote:Hope he comes back to the Bundesliga, Dortmund don't exactly need him anymore but Leverkusen and Wolfsburg have been linked.

Re: If De Bruyne does not leave Chelsea in January
Chelsea have gathered a handsome collection of players who may well end up in the same situation or already have.
Marin, Lukaku, Courtois, Moses, Ba, De Bruyne... These are players who are too good and/or established to constantly sit on the bench or roam around on loan. A couple of them I'd understand but half a dozen is too many.

I doubt they'll be bothered about any of those names other than Lukaku and Courtois Art tbh.
Marin isn't good enough to start with, Moses is in the same boat as De Bruyne and Ba will go where the money is.( Turkey most likely)

Your sentence seems offenive towards Ba , it's not like he didn't want to fight for his place .Great Leader Sprucenuce wrote:I doubt they'll be bothered about any of those names other than Lukaku and Courtois Art tbh.

Re: If De Bruyne does not leave Chelsea in January
how is leaving and going to a smaller club somehow "more ambitious" than staying at a bigger club like Chelsea and fighting for a spot?

Because it is putting your own narcissism, or complacency, above your nation.Swanhends wrote:how is leaving and going to a smaller club somehow "more ambitious" than staying at a bigger club like Chelsea and fighting for a spot?
Belgium needs him in shape and playing, and it is not a given he will ever have an opportunity like has has next summer again.
If he is ok battling to make the bench during the season before probably the most important summer of his life then that is ok, but it is the definition of a lack of ambition.

Re: If De Bruyne does not leave Chelsea in January
It's not about ambition anyway, the guy is very talented but needs to play regularly to develop further even if it means stepping a level down, playing for Dortmund is not the definition of "lacking ambition" is it? He had the chance to play regularly for a CL team, competing for the league and pretty much secure his place in the first team for Belgium in Brazil.
Instead, Mertens who has less "ambition" takes his place in Brazil and if he impresses maybe even takes his place in the Chelsea squad

Dries Mertens can definitely take De Buryne's spot if he isnt careful.urbaNRoots wrote:It's not about ambition anyway, the guy is very talented but needs to play regularly to develop further even if it means stepping a level down, playing for Dortmund is not the definition of "lacking ambition" is it? De Bruyne should know better too after seeing what happened to Vanden Borre. Dude was playing for the senior Belgium side as a kid, and as a 26 year old cant even get a look in anymore.

Neither of those things has anything to do with ambitionBetty La Fea wrote:Because it is putting your own narcissism, or complacency, above your nation.Swanhends wrote:how is leaving and going to a smaller club somehow "more ambitious" than staying at a bigger club like Chelsea and fighting for a spot?

Striving to compete at the top level is less ambitious than dropping to a lower club so you can shine because your surrounded by lesser players....alright bud, whatever you sayBetty La Fea wrote:If he is ok battling to make the bench during the season before probably the most important summer of his life then that is ok, but it is the definition of a lack of ambition.

Ambition is wanting to show it off on the biggest stage as you said. This, for him, is the world cup.Swanhends wrote:Neither of those things has anything to do with ambitionBetty La Fea wrote:Because it is putting your own narcissism, or complacency, above your nation.Swanhends wrote:how is leaving and going to a smaller club somehow "more ambitious" than staying at a bigger club like Chelsea and fighting for a spot?

Fighting for your spot during a time when it will hurt your nation, and place on the biggest stage, screams of no ambition.

He has no future here. He should leave permanently.

We wouldn't sell him to Liverpool.
I agree with ECF. He has no future, his future was killed off with the Willian deal.

Re: If De Bruyne does not leave Chelsea in January
Willian is the inferior player, not too sure what Chelsea did there.
Anyway, Willian is basically Torres (big money deal for player who isn't very good/past it yet hogs the game time; although to his credit Torres has done well under Mou so far), and De Bruyne is Sturridge (young, promising, needs game time). De Bruyne should join Liverpool.

Orrrrrr
Willian is Schürrle (the supposed unnecessary big money flop) and de Bruyne is Moses (the overhyped kid who's not really that good who joins Liverpool later)

Re: If De Bruyne does not leave Chelsea in January
KDB won't join Liverpool, Chelsea won't allow it. I could see him going to Dortmund though.
Also, we're yet to see the best of Willian and he has played better than KDB when they've played this season.
And you're Willian/ Torres comment is laughable.
Schurrle has done well so I don't know why you're calling him a flop.

Re: If De Bruyne does not leave Chelsea in January
Willian has came in and shown himself to better than De Bruyne(who had an entire preseason to impress Mou), and Mata(who was loved by the fans).Red Alert wrote:Willian is the inferior player, not too sure what Chelsea did there.

Willian is miles ahead of De Bruyne, and miles ahead of what Chelsea were fielding last year(Benayoun and Marin). In fact, you should be happy Willian came. It allowed Chelsea to send you guys your pub star Moses, and that should be enough to see a great 6th place finish.
