El Shaarawy could leave AC Milan in January
The teenage forward has seen little game time this season and his representative has admitted that the player could move elsewhere in search of regular first-team football.
The agent of Stephan El Shaarawy insists that his client is happy at AC Milan but warned that the midfielder's future at San Siro remains uncertain.
Big things are expected of the 19-year-old but he has made just six appearances for the Rossoneri this season. As a result, El Shaarawy has been linked with a move away from the Giuseppe Meazza, with Genoa president Enrico Preziosi revealing this week that he was offered the teenager as part of a swap deal involving Alexander Merkel.
El Shaarawy’s agent stated that his client is calm about his current situation but that a move in January cannot be discounted.
"There is a question mark over the future of Stephan at this moment,” Roberto La Florio told Goal.com.
“It is true: just now I was on the phone with Preziosi. I established that he spoke of Stephan with Milan. But we know nothing at the moment; we will be advised by the club [Milan].
“The boy is fine at Milan and knows that he must always give his best to carve out a space for himself [in the squad].”
La Florio, though, argued that it is becoming increasingly difficult for up-and-coming players to break into Serie A sides and hinted that a move to the Premier League might be the answer for El Shaarawy.
“In Italy the coaches are struggling to give more space to young people, especially in big clubs,” he said. “We should instead follow the example of the English teams: If Stephan was playing in England he would surely play as a starter.
“What I can say is that there will be a discussion with the club in the coming weeks and then we will see. We will make the best choice for Stephan and the Rossoneri.
“It is clear that if they offered him the opportunity to play an important role in a mid-level side in Serie A, that would be a hypothesis not to be discarded lightly."
El Shaarawy began his career at Genoa, where he made his Serie A debut at just 16, before joining Milan after a successful loan spell at Padova.

You want him to go to Juve?
The whole point he could be leaving is because there's not enough space in the Milan squad. Juve is the last place he would go.

It has next to nothing to do with Allegri
The only way Stephan would've been playing would be if we settled for an incredibly mediocre forward line after selling Ibra, Pato, Cassano and Binho. El Shaarawy was never going to get regular playing time with the forwards we have right now.

Re: El Shaarawy could leave AC Milan in January
If he leaves it will be for a six month loan, I don't see the issue here, it's not even likely that he'll leave yet.
The Merkel case wasn't 'messed' up, he's a 19 year old midfielder who needed consistent game time to develop and whose contract is still partially owned by AC Milan. He'd have gone nowhere in our team this season, but we gave him the window to improve himself then return if he improves sufficiently.
We may or may not have to do the same with El Shaarawy, however it is not a conversation worth having unless there is actually some sort of credible loan offer to discuss, otherwise we're playing fantasy football. There's no point loaning him just anywhere.

Re: El Shaarawy could leave AC Milan in January
I do think we just signed El Shaarawy just so we could have one of the future gems of Italian football and give a view into the life of a top team.
Milan, Genoa and Stephan himself must have SURELY known he wasn't going to be playing week in-week out with the players in our squad he's competing with

What I hope our starting 11 would be in 2-3 years time:
--------------------Sirigu--------------------
Abate--------T.Silva----Ogbonna--------D.Vila
--------------------Cigirni--------------------
-----------Boatang--------Nocerino-----------
G.Rossi-------------Pato-------------Shaarawy

He needs a chance to shine, we should loan him out to a mid table and let him thrive for a season or two, just like Giovinco (except no co-ownership)

Re: El Shaarawy could leave AC Milan in January
Genoa would be pissing themselves laughing if they get El Shaarawy
That means they would have
- Merkel
- The playing rights of El Shaarawy
- 10 mil from the 50% of Stephan's contract
I would suggest a Serie B team but he's already climbed that mountain. Maybe a Serie A team. Fiorentina? Parma? Link up with Paloschi at Chievo?
