People stop overreacting
If caceres didn't give the ball away and we went on to win 2-0 or 3-1 would you be saying we can win the champions league?
We were clearly better over the two games and we're just a bit unlucky
Formation is good
Can you honestly say any of our midfield four played bad?
It was a good performance
We will beat Copenhagen and then all we need is to avoidddefeat at galatasaray

stop overreacting we are going to qualify plus we played really good game and didn't have luck... Anyone else noticed that after going down 1-2 we switched to 3-5-2 and exposed their defense ?

Re: Juve VS Madrid home game :))
Madrid had 54% of the possession in this game and put up 17 shots... so it's not like Juve were the better team. First half was Juve's and second half was Madrid's. So the final score seems fair to me.
The good for Juve
- Llorente looks better and better
- Pogba, Vidal and Marchisio are all top quality players
- The shape looked good and organized
The bad for Juve
- Tevez is active but not very effective
- The width both on defense and on the attack is poor
- Aging stars in Buffon and Pirlo
- CBs are definitely not as good as advertised. Understand Chielinni wasn't there... but still. Flat footed too often.
Not sure how to rate Juve tbh. A lot depends on Pirlo since the whole scheme revolves around him. Given his current form, i can't say that i'm very optimistic... Juve has to be a defensive juggernaut too like the past 2 years. So far, it's not and that's the second most noticeable thing after Pirlo.
Nothing's lost for Juve... but it needs to get fixed sooner rather than later now.

Re: Juve VS Madrid home game :))
Actually Sports, I think today was one of Llorente's lesser games. Given his excellent record vs Madrid and the play expected outside goals, he looked considerably disjointed and strangely out of balance. Yet his goal a testament to how he turns up in big games versus better teams. The battle between Varane and him was excellent, as the kid deserves plaudits for how he handled Fernando.
Glad you saw Marchisio's tactical excellence in his wide sacrificial role, which shows your experience in not seeing football in one dimension.
I disagree on Pirlo as for me he was one of the best players one the pitch and was transcendent 2nd half, distributing in excellent calculation for Juventus while the rest faded out.
CBs had to adjust to a 4-man after years of playing a 3 man, to which Barzagli was impressive while Bonnuci's position was switched 3 times within the space of the game.
Agreed as a whole.

Actually I'm verry worried about Marchisio's current form. Couldn't even believe Conte let him play the whole match.
And to all those who are saying Marchisio is doing great defensive work, that's just total bullsh*t. He was totally invisible yesterday, most of RM-s attacks came from the other flank, Marchisio had a below average passing rate and got a grand total of 40 touches on the ball in the whole match (that's the worst in the team by far, again).
I can tell you the name of the guy who actually did amazing defensive job: Tevez. He tracked down many times to help out Asamoah even had some crucial tackles.

Re: Juve VS Madrid home game :))
Disappointed that once again defensive howlers cost us the game. You could see after Caceres made that costly mistake ,the momentum of the game changed but still we did well to fight back in the game.
I think the vast difference of the quality in attack was noticeable as well.Thats what world class players do.They take their chances ,they're more clinical and we sadly werent.
I think people need to stop overcrediting Casillas. He was gerat but there were atleast 2-3 great opportunities and some of our players shot straight at the keeper.See,these are things we need to work on if we need to become a world beater team.
And am i the only one who felt nervous everytime Pirlo had the ball ? Half of the time he looked like he'd give the ball away and we'd end up getting caught on the counters but he was very lucky in some instances.
He did well, not a masterclass by any means and i'm thankful to him for resurrecting Juventus after years of misery but i hope come summer both ourselves and Pirlo have a move on honestly.
Also regarding Bonucci,i've defended him from some of the criticisms here and other forums but i'll never feel like he'll ever be a great defender.A good ball playing CB but an average defender in total.
Good thing Copenhagen won.Now the ball is in our court. If we cant win the next two games, then we dont deserve to be in the CL,simple as.

It's not hating, I've been a fan of Marchisio since he joined our primary team, but he is just below average since his injury. People always seem to defend him with the same thing, that he does will in defense, not like RM tried anything on his side (Bale effect)
I expect him to add more threat to our attack and even score goals like he did last year. Defensively he didn't have much to do. Kinda the same what Pogba did yesterday (played in a different position now though)

Re: Juve VS Madrid home game :))
Im not coming down hard on Marchisio for this at all
We're playing a left center midfielder as a right forward/right winger.
If he had a similarly average game from CM, yeah i'd be annoyed. But he is being played grossly out of position because we had no other choice in a 4-3-3
I think 4-3-1-2 would be a better option short-term in Europe
------------------------------Buffon-----------------------------
Licht---------Barzagli------------------Bonucci--------Chiellini
---------Vidal---------------Pirlo----------------Marchisio-----
-----------------------------Pogba------------------------------
-------------Tevez----------------------Llorente---------------
Asamoah could replace Pirlo when he tires, Marchisio could rotate with Pogba positionally speaking, Vucinic could easily work his way into that team also with a string of good performances.
Tevez has never been offensively effective in the CL, Llorente is still working his way to top form. So drop Mirko in as a sub or in place of one of them
If we needed goals, we drop Tevez in behind 2 strikers as a last resort.

Re: Juve VS Madrid home game :))
People have a problem with Marchisio
You are playing him as a striker and expect him to play as a midfielder?
He almost scored twice
I am not a fan boy
I just like the Juventus game play with Marchisio on the pitch
Vidal dribbles and shoots from long distances
Pogba same
Pirlo does some weird things no one understands, he's pirlo for Gods sake
Marchisio passes the ball. It's as simple as that
Marchisio gets the ball and passes it on
Just tell me how many times does Marchisio lose the ball in a game?
I can tell you pogba will lose the ball at least thrice every game. But it doesn't matter because that's not why Pogba is here
Marchisio slows the game and allows us to control it
You can take him out of the team and we will concede weird goals again like at the beginning of the season during his injury
I really want to know (no fight, just want to know) how did Vidal play better than Marchisio? And what if Casilas didn't save his header? Would Marchisio have played a good game in your opinion? See for me that's just lame

I agree with you on most points tbh
Personally, thought Vidal was excellent last night though.
I have criticised Marchisio in the past. But i'll say it again, we can't go mad because he's not tearing games up playing as a hard-working right forward considering he's quite obviously spent most of his career in an entirely different role and position
Not to mention, he's playing this new role against Marcelo and Ronaldo ffs.

It's like everyone saying Ronaldo is having a great season, the goals he is scoring are laughable
Just because marchisio does not have a "direct impact" he's regarded as a flop
He put Llorente through and tevez through once
If they had scored, all hail Marchisio

theres nothing laughable about his goals, but I agree about marchisio. just because the camera follows the ball, doesn't mean marchisio is "invisible". if you were at the stadium, ou wouldn't be talking like that. just because he doesn't score goals doesn't mean he didn't contribute as much, if not more than others

He had 40 touches on the ball, by far the least in our team, even Llorente had more. What do you say about that?
Stop twisting my words, I'm not talking about goalscoring, rather just simply being in the game..
Tom is right about his position, but bigger concern he hasn't really played better even in his natural midfield role.

I was talking in general, if I was referring to your post, I would've quoted it. the man covers a lot of ground and marks people, not everything a player does can be recorded as a stat.dronte wrote:He had 40 touches on the ball, by far the least in our team, even Llorente had more. The fact is conte plays him
I haven't come across any player being given a chance when he didn't deserve it
