Your top 5 best coaches/managers at the moment?
Seeing the thread about Simeone not being short listed for manager of the year got me to thinking....
Who are the best coaches/managers at the moment.... we discuss players a lot but rarely discuss the best coaches/managers when in reality they are just as important.
In no particular order: Klopp, Wenger, Mourinho, Guardiola and Simeone
Discuss

Can't see anything wrong with that list. Maybe replace Mourinho with some up and coming manager who's doing well right now?

Mourinho, Guardiola, Benitez, Ancelotti, Garcia.
Other managers I rate that are not "top" per se (atm): Rodgers, Mancini, Bielsa

Just realised i didn't name Simeone in my 5 despite him inspiring me to make this thread
Replace Garcia with him i think.

Since this is a 'right now' thread that implies form and Garcia is far and away the most in form manager at the moment. 9 for 9 ffs, 1 goal conceded for a team that a year ago had the 2nd worse defensive record after Pescara.

5 is a bit narrow of a number but oh well.

Laurent Blanc should be mentioned... Not easy going into that situation with all the egos in the locker room and management completely changing. He kept it together and the team is playing better now than at any point under Carlo.

I don't think this is based on past accomplishments, if it was Mourinho would definitely be on the list.Gil wrote:Wenger, Mourinho, Klopp, Pep and Simeone.Yohan Modric wrote:Can't see anything wrong with that list. Maybe replace Mourinho with some up and coming manager who's doing well right now?

While Garcia and Simeone have done fantastically and have a place in top 5 at the moment, I am surprised Hyypia's name isn't mentioned anywhere.
8-1-1 record in the league going toe-to-toe with the big 2, 6 points in CL (consisting of raping Shakhtar, though losing to Moyes was bad , Leno ).

Re: Your top 5 best coaches/managers at the moment?
Why not? Didn't rate them purely on form. 2 CLs in last decade.. great tactical mind.BarrileteCosmico wrote:Really?ExtremistEnigma wrote:Mourinho, Guardiola, Benitez, Ancelotti, Garcia.

Madrid administration is a farce. If he stuck with PSG, they would've been legit CL contenders this season imho.

I was thinking earlier if you did a top 10 then you would just fill the list with scrubs to make up the numbers but its probably not the case all things considered.

Right now Arsenal are on form, so makes sense for him to be on lists.
