Chiriches is amazing. Another great performance from him today.

Won't be too long until he's being talked about as one of the best CB's in the Prem.

Dawson is a great CB if used properly. Just can't play in a high line (like Terry). Anyways he was their best defender today.

He has also been a solid 5.0 option for great points in fantasy league.

If he is ever benched so helped me god I would slap the taste out of AVB's mouth.

You can say that about a lot of defenders tbh.... limits them offensively though and that's a clear problem at the moment.

You just assume they will create chances, why? What type of chances?

And what playmaker do Liverpool need if you are playing on the counter attack? As I said, if you force the Arsenal forwards up, Suarez spins into that space and Gerrard is easily capable of playing direct balls into space.

Having your gameplan be relying on a 35 year old DLP for counters and one of the most error prone defences in the premier league is an extremely risky plan esp in such an important game. Also,Arsenal players make more runs than probs any team in the world. It's not easy at all to defend that, you see guys like Ozil and Cazorla and Ramsey all over the field.
What does his age have to do with him playing direct balls? I dont even....

And who cares what runs they make if you defend the middle? They dont run wide or behind the defence, so it makes no difference. If you clog the middle space, their runs wont do anything because they would be moving from defensive midfielder to the other. Their off ball running was most devasting with the exact same plan they had yesterday (the opposite of what im suggesting), leaving Lucas alone to deal with the space they play in.
Age as he'd probably be tired as hell from defending he wouldnt play at top level. And Arsenal dont run behind the defence?!?!!?You wut mate.

What about all those chances they had yesterday.....And they don't even have to run behind the defence.Just behind the midfield line which is how most of their goals  have been ths season anyways. And then they'd have to face a defence which contains Sakho,Cissokho and Flanagan.Error prone as *bleep*
But he would be much less tired than yesturday, because he would be defending with a solid unit around him. So he wouldnt have to chase around the pitch.

And yes, Arsenal players (minus Walcott and a few others who were unavailable) rarely run behind the defence.

Of course they didnt have to run behind yesturday, Liverpool gave space in between the lines...the exact thing im saying they shouldnt do by playing more compact. Keep up with the arguement.

Spurs are looking really poor in the final 3rd. No wonder they are scraping 1-0 wins and most of them have been pens this season. No creativity in that team, they do look good defensively though.

Really depends on what is your key statistic for best defensive unit. Southampton has allowed 1 fewer goal than Tottenham. However, Tottenham have allowed the fewest number of shots, chances, and through balls by opposing sides.

In regards to Dawson, he is a great leader who knows how to direct a game and marshal the back line, but when he makes a mistake it is often a huge one. He would be the perfect defender for any side outside of the top 6, but for a team with Tottenham's aspirations he is to inconsistent to be a starter in spite of his obvious leadership qualities.

What do you want to say lol? Their good defense is much more down to the fact that they have much more ball than the opponents and a defensively competent midfield.

There was some people who said how we played against Chelsea was pathetic and like watching football from the 70s hoofball etc etc.

So i did some research....

Chelsea are on the right and we are on the left.

Long ball per pass would be a better indicator. If you are Stoke and you only pass the ball 60 times a match and 55 of those are long balls then that stat doesn't tell the whole truth.

Ah true.... but still if we were the team we are described as we would be on top of these lists regardless of how little we have the ball.

Ala last season when we were long ball merchants and no one would deny that :lol:but to have the least in the league with Arsenal obviously means we don't hoof at every opportunity like some say.

And no Dani we don't we are 10th in the possession sakes..... the reason for that though isn't because we hoof though its because we try a lot of through balls into space only Liverpool average more per game in that department.

I wouldn't say we are great at keeping possession either but we don't hoof either..... it annoys me because i have seen the improvements we have made in style from last year and people still act like we are Pulis Stoke lol.

I can't find that but just for example to compare to Southampton who everyone praises.....

They average a long ball every 6 passes while we average a long ball every 7 passes.

Everton also average less passes for every long ball than we do...

Is that enough lol?

AVB's treatment of Lloris yesterday was disgraceful by the way.

Absolutely shocking that he let him back on. Could have gone very very wrong.
