In an ideal world, Courtois would be brought back and Cech would be retained so the 2 would be healthy competition for one another.

Whether the club would be able to swing that is another matter, however...

could you imagine all the media stories if Cech is benched? Also what about potential unrest in the squad? Seeing Cech on the bench would be a shock to many.

If Courtois is performing at a higher level than Cech (which I believe he is) then bring him back, put Cech on the market immediately while his sale value is still high and be done with it. You only need one top keeper at a club.

Benching Cech shouldn't be an option, the guy's turning 32 in May, for a goalkeeper he's got at least a couple of good years left in him, maybe more.

That said, it would be stupid of Chelsea to lose a young talent like Courtois by hanging onto Cech for too long. I think their both contracts are until 2016, so it's a bit of an issue since there's this noise coming from Courtois' camp that he might prefer to leave Chelsea since he's not playing there anyway.

If there's the opportunity to sell Cech this summer, you probably should take it and have Courtois playing for you. Although it's a bit cold, because Cech has been at the club for 10 years and been a great servant and is still a top-class keeper. But if he's your number one next season, too, and Courtois doesn't sign an extension, you'll be in real danger of losing the young lad.

Mourinho confirms Cech and Terry is out for the rest of the season while the former could still make an appearance should we make the final.

I think it's still too early to write off Cech since he'll go through medical evaluations before a final call is made

They have Sirigu, who is younger, they also have to start selling before they can buy anyone else, so it would only happen in some kind of trade. Not a straight deal.

Since that isn't mentioned, I doubt it.
