It has been widely anticipated that Mourinho and Chelsea would try to block Cech from joining Arsenal or another serious rival in the Premier League or Champions League, but that would not be the case if he asked to leave. Cech has given Chelsea almost 15 years of superb service, winning the Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup, League Cup and Europa League with the club, and will be guaranteed a respectful exit if and when the time comes.

The fact Cech has taken his demotion to be deputy to Courtois so professionally only underlines Chelsea’s commitment to act passionately towards the player.

We'd still favour an overseas team I reckon but it's not at all shocking that the club (allegedly) would be willing to assent to Cech's wishes should those wishes be to stay in England, unfortunate as it may be.

I can understand he has family and may not want relocate to another city. But it will be so tough to see him play for Arsenal! I can still remember that I almost cried for him when he got that horrible head injury.
