The 2013-14 Calcio Saga Episode II - Page 25 Empty Re: The 2013-14 Calcio Saga Episode II

Post by Robespierre Wed Jan 15, 2014 6:32 pm

It's strange to think Allegri was sacked because of Sassuolo he was promoted to big football thanks to Sassuolo
He played an amusing football there , then when he went to Milan converted to a Capello-esque style of play based on pragmatism (same thing for Mancini).
Despite the palmares it will be a downgrande than Prandelli . I don't appreciate Prandelli for some choice as the " codice etico" but he has showed for years to get results over the value of roster.
Hellas , Fiorentina ( it was less strong than now ... in 2007 2008 he reached 4rd place overcoming the Milan champion of Europe the year before and the semi-finals of Coppa Uefa losing only to penalites kick ...result very rare for an Italian club in the last 15 years all this not having a forward during the year) and in the end the Nazionale.
what he did for Nazionale is very underrated.
this Nazionale is good, surely, the real values have nothing to do with the results of 2010 got only for Lippi's mistakes , but anyway but still lower than those of the past to be fair.

This is because of Generation ' 80s ,  which was a substantial failure for Italian football if compared, contextualized to the past. to be fair.

It is enough to consider that the most talented player of this generation was Antonio Cassano, an unifished.

International players ? Daniele De Rossi ,probably Marchisio and the italian-Brazilian Motta and Giuseppe Rossi the eternal injured

in the past you wew spoilt for choice.
ah.the old Buffon and Pirlo stars in Euro 2012 obviously belong to the previous generation (on the other hand born in 70'.s).

or just to remember the number 10 of Nazionale.
You could choice in past Mancini Zola Baggio Totti Del Piero....
now the best would be Alessandro Diamanti.

Substantially for Euro 2012 he benefited of a good material but the second place behind the best national ever was a result above expectations

I am more trustful about the new generation of Italian player, with Marco Verratti the main star.
but less trustful of Allegri.

It was an insanely bad decision from the officials but I hate when defenders stop playing thinking they're gonna get the call.

There was a rule change over the summer(in July),so going by that, its not an offside goal.

Mother of God. I just watched the Roma-Genoa game. Naingollan is a monster, reminds me of a less offensively gifted Vidal.

His engine is unbelievable.

Yeah I always said he was a mini-Vidal

If we weren't so stacked in midfield we might have brought him
in.

I hope Roma get into the CL, they could do well with 1 or 2 additions.

Genoa was embarassing against Roma to be fair but yes Naingolaan is very very good.
okay Belgium is a National team very good but it's strange he was never considered
Inter and Milan needed of him more than Roma...

Pogba's shooting technique is amazing. I think by the end of the season I will regret putting him alongside Thiago and Isco in terms of potential if he continues at this pace.

Poor 2nd half from us, we just stopped trying. We need to stop thinking about the next game and concentrate harder on the task at hand

That being said, our midfield is just amazing.

Marchisio in the holding role (I've said for a long time he's best there now) is fantastic. Pogba and Vidal are just a cut above....

Gabbiadini is pretty good, had a great game. Chiellini and then Peluso just thugged him out though rofl

Walter Mazzarri admitted that "everything is going wrong" for Inter after Sunday's 1-0 loss at Genoa.

Luca Antonelli headed home a Rossoblu corner with just seven minutes to go at a saturated Luigi Ferraris to consign the Nerazzurri to a third defeat in four games in all competitions.

Mazzarri was utterly bewildered by this latest loss, which has left his side 11 points adrift of third-placed Napoli in Serie A.

"I cannot say anything to the boys," the Inter coach told Sky Sport Italia.

"We could only have done more in front of goal and have been more attentive on their goal.

"The pitch was difficult and we faced a strong and organised opponent. We had a good game but it was not enough.

"Unfortunately, it is a moment in which everything is going wrong. We are throwing away points

My brief post-match thoughts from the Milan section:

Me wrote:Immediately with the 4-2-3-1, to which changed into a 4-5-1 in defence, our pressing was organized and far more aggressive than under Max. Attack was composed of quick transitions in a side that was effectively built around Ricky, to which he had a role without any shackles, and it worked very well. Robinho played the El Shaarawy role yet looked out of his depth there considering he cannot take half of the responsibility SES has on and off the ball at this point. Honda had a SOLID game yet looked isolated on the RAM role, obvious given it would be like that with a free role Kaka. Birsa on-paper looked to be the right choice considering he is a far better choice than Honda IN THAT ROLE. He was not spectacular, but Birsa linked up well when coming in.

Problem lay with our dual pivot, in which Monty and de Jong both lack the pace to perform with such responsibility, despite Monty having quite a good game on the offence. de Jong was below his usual as he was overrun along with his distribution missing the mark a few to many times.

Defence was suspect aside from De Sciglio, who also looked off his tangent as times, struggling with the unbearable conditions.

Milanisti quite simply did not realize what an excellent team Verona is, a team that attacks with deadly venom and who are organized within the defensive flank. Yet the sheer fact that we dominated a team who has dominated the better teams in Serie A, is a very positive sign.

Problem is we lacked the urgency to make a midfield transition from defence to attack. I would have thought Poli is the perfect man to troubleshoot that crisis yet he was not even subbed in tonight. We lacked guile in most parts of the matches yet that is expected given Seedorf has had less than a week to prepare along with not even having his desired training staff on board. His changes quite obviously will be incremental rather than drastic in the course of this season, which works given that our players will be under far too much inertia to reach that zone of mentality.

Yet there IS a clear and concise idea that Clarence aims to implement based on what we saw tonight, despite it portrayed in all its raw form.

Notes:
-Right from the get-go we have understood the side will be built around Ricky Kaka. He lacks pace and stamina (as displayed by his 2nd half fatigue) yet carries the responsibility with perfect elegance and creates very well.

-Robinho's SES role was confirmation to me, that Stephan will have a large role in this, especially given his ability to speed up play and have us look better as a team will be vital to crux the system within the left-to-central side.

-Honda will find it hard to perform if he is placed on the right again, benching Kaka is not an option. Honda can play deep very well yet prefers to be an attacking midfielder, as his one-touch play, dribbles and vision is better utilized there.

-Dual pivot with Monty-De Jong might not work solely based on their lack of pace, their understanding of the game will be their only saviour if success is within that department.

-Rami-Mexes must be implemented as soon as possible.

-Balotelli has disgusting movement off-the-ball often expecting the ball to traverse to him as Pazzo's movement would have been much appreciated tonight. Balo on the ball is a magician yet being the central focal point of the 4-2-3-1, he will not succeed if he does not improve his finishing or off-ball movement.

-Defence WAS more aware than usual and chose to anticipate rather than react as usual.

-Conditions such as these make it further hard to judge us, considering players calibrate themselves to compromise based on the muddy conditions, severely hampering our ability to execute such a ball-playing system. Keep this in mind.

-Seedorf's arrival has just injected a new energy to the club and fans. Our stadium despite less than 50k was as loud as any other stadium and chanted non-stop. Its about time we have a manager who both sets can appreciate and support as the split between was tiresome. It transcends to our training, to our atmosphere and to the pitch. That extra tangent can make all the difference.

-Have concerns on how close Seedorf is to the squad as evidenced by his more than friendly approach to the senatore and some of the stars. We need him to be more a leader than a friend to our players as otherwise this will be Montella at Roma V2.0

As for Naingolan, he has played for Belgium 5-6 times yet being in Cagliari meant he is hardly ever scouted. I'm not surprised people are praising him as I've always noted on how complete he is. Should easily start for Belgium's deep end midfield.
