I havent seen the guy myself but obviously heard good things.

Of all the names mentioned, the fact that I dont know him well probably helps because I know Reina and I know Courtois and I want nothing to do with either.

Good that they're not going to try to take Courtois from us, it would've been tough to convince him to turn down barca in favor of the Chelsea bench

Well, MAtS is defo not a bad choice. I'd prefer him to stay in the BL though, for very selfish reasons ^^

Be interesting to see how Barca's new generation pans out.

Neymar is a sure fire hit and will probably be Barca's best LWF since Dinho.

So be interesting to see how Xavi, Puyol and Valdes are replaced.... 3 cornerstones of their success and all of them will be tough asks to follow.

8M euros is the reported fee at the moment.

Valdes apparently has came out and mentioned he is likely headed to Monaco when he exits.

All in all this would all happen in the summer

He's bound to make some mistakes in his first year, like De Gea.

Well, when he first went into the BMG goal, he just came from the 3rd league and never played in the BL before. In those remaining matchdays, the goals against BMG got went from around 2.6 to 0.5 per match, and the club wasn't relegated as was expected before MAtS came in. That is, just throw him into the cold water, he will likely do well.

Not really, there was so many goalkeeper who have just a year left on the contract and De Gea seems reasonably happy at Utd right now.

MAtS is way younger, his contract runs till 2015, and he is a Germany international, so his market value is definitely not the smallest. ^^

Well, then, yes. But if - what some rumours say - they want to get him in Winter, it would be more than one year, and it is questionable that BMG would let go one of their biggest assets cheaply in the middle of a season.

I doubt we would sign him in Winter.

It could make sense, it gives him half a season with no pressure and he can get used to the club and the language before stepping in the starting role next season.

But I just doubt it.
