Looks like Players now know about Ter Stegen's awful positioning

Lot of players are now trying this half way line shots against Ter Stegen now.


No wonder Bravo is so comfortable keeping that spot. Futball's favorite GK is a walking disaster

It is not just that goalkeeper, it's the new wave keeper/sweeper nonsense. I hope they start scoring on Neur when he does that nonsense so the keeper/sweeper thing goes way.

There was nothing wrong with his positioning. He is Barcelonas sweeper so he has to be able to get off the line quickly. It was just an exceptional goal...

You have to be at the edge of your box at least when your playing in a team with a high line.

It looks bad because he conceded 2 wondergoals in a short span of time but it's not entirely his fault

Not entirely his fault. It's the instruction of the coaches how far off his line he's supposed to be standing. It's like blaming John Terry for getting exposed in a high line. Bravo too almost conceded like that against Malaga just 2 weeks ago:

Bravo one is no way comparable as that is a misplaced pass directly getting shot at the post.

Ter Stegen's case is pretty clear now. Players are now actively considering sending balls from halfway line and it looks like a damn effective strategy against him.!

Coaches instructions? coaches are not asking him to over anticipate and over guess work are they? Sweeper keeper what ever the role is doesnt work as an excuse to not do basic goalkeeping duties. He ran back and still wasnt no where near the line when the ball crossed, being a sweeper keeper he is supposed to be better at keeping the distance from the line. If you are consistently getting beaten from half way line doesnt that tell you to keep a better positioning in open play.

Teams are now attempting half way line shots because they barely manage to get out of their own half and that one lucky punch from Athletic Bilbao gave them the idea to actually go for it. If that had failed, which it would in 9 out of 10 tries, the Malaga player and Florenzi yesterday would have never gotten the idea to try that. It's coincidence. There is no strategy against ter Stegen:

Keita (Roma): "We didn't analyze Ter Stegen's position. Florenzi just scored an amazing goal. He was lucky, you can't explain this goal."

Luis Enrique: "Roma's goal is my fault, we tell our keepers to play like that. I guess they won't score another one like this against us."



This isn't happening because the goalkeeper does his own tactics. It's the coaching staff instructions.

Ter stergen always has one error or the other going for him especially with positioning. But ofcourse, he does one bicycle kick/gymnastic save (in 10 tries) and all is forgotten once again. One hell of an erratic goalie. Shit >>
