I don't think people give Nigeria the credit they deserve today. They entered as favorites coming into the tournament. In their warm-up friendlies they slaughtered their teams by 6 goals.. 8 goals and 11 goals!!! All while conceding only 2.
In their qualifiers they also wrecked their opponents and only faltered to a defensive side like Cote d'Ivoire. If teams try to go blow for blow with Nigeria, then they better have a way to score an insane amount of goals. Their pool of U-17 players this cycle is extremely good.
This U-17 Mexico aside like 2-3 players is drastically worse than their 2011 counter-parts. They'll have to pick it up against Sweden who come in pretty big.. probably have to drub Iraq for a shot to qualify.

Re: The Official 2013 U-17 World Cup Thread
LOL, they say that the Nigerian under x teams are 10 years older than the requirement, not 20! It is a shame though that they allow this. But, if you don't have record keeping in a country, then I guess all bets are off. On the other hand it catches up as they go to the non age limited competitions and do very little.Great Leader Sprucenuce wrote:Nigeria with dat under 37 team

Re: The Official 2013 U-17 World Cup Thread
Well this U-17 side passed an MRI scan in CAF headquarters.. passed an MRI scan at the FIFA Headquarters, and passed an MRI scan at the U-17 WC headquarters this year in Dubai...inter1lachen wrote:LOL, they say that the Nigerian under x teams are 10 years older than the requirement, not 20! So.. if any of these kids were to be overaged, they would've been detected by now seeing as they took not one, or two.. but THREE MRI Scans to confirm their age.

http://telegraphng.com/2013/08/mri-tests-reveal-over-aged-players-in-nigerias-u-17-world-cup-team/
The team that got them to the finals had overage players, as tests have proven. Is it fair to other African countries that Nigeria got to the finals with overage players? I think not.

No fair that a Nigeria team that just obliterated their opponent this week is the same team who went through THREE different MRI scans prior to showing up to UAE.
I guess they're overage too.. smh give me a break.
