Re: Oscar > Mata - Mourinho
Nick the super visionary
From his tenure with Real we all knew this mata not playing was not just a fitness issue and there was more to it.
Oscar is no way superior player to Mata. Mata just had a 20 goals and 30 assist season yet mourinho builds a counter attacking system (which he is only good at ) which doesnt fit Mata at all and blames Mata for poor performances after shattering his confidence.
Mourinho looks for defensive security rather than attacking ,which is the prime reason Mata is being dropped for Oscar...add the one dimensional counter attacking game which doesnt get the best out of the players like Mata and thats it..
Mourinho either likes a player or he dont, and Mata falls in the later category..Mata needs to leave chelsea asap.

You need to re-watch that confederations cup final if you think Del Bosque views them the same.aleumdance wrote:if Cassilas will make WC, mate willBénin wrote:Mata , how to miss out a WC

Say what you want, but VDB is a loyal old guy. He shows faith for those who deliver for him(which is why Torres got caps over negredo/soldado when the latter two were so much better).
Mata has in no way earned that respect. He strolls around the pitch as if he owns it, and looks offended if players actually press him. Torres put in more of a defensive shift in the confederations cup final than him.
His only saving grace may be Cazorla riding the bench like him until then. Neither gets in over Silva barring injury, and golden boy Isco is in the mix.

Mou is right. You bench the best player on your team and top 3 in the EPL the past season... for a kid that, although good, reminds me of Pastore with his inconsistency.
Chelsea had also played likeshat this season and is on a crisis.
But yeah... this is obviously merit-based... no agenda at all.
The SS (semi-special) One is right though! All hail Mou!!
Regarding the PSG possibility... i don't see it anymore, mainly because the club has switched to a 433 and it's much, much better. You have a rotation of Cavani, Ibra, Lucas and Lavezzi going and Menez is back now for 3 spots. They have plenty of forwards. But they need CM depth as there's nobody behind Veratti, Motta and Matuidi

Re: Oscar > Mata - Mourinho
Surely only "special one" nostalgia is keeping the Chelsea fans from going ape? If this was Rafa, people would be losing their minds at the stupidity.
His justification makes very little since.
Your not ready to ask Oscar to track fullbacks? Why not? He's very capable.
Brazil has more talented players in the No.10 position than any other country in the world? Really? Whom? Hernanes (spent half his career as a deep lying player), broken Kaka and Ronaldinho?

Re: Oscar > Mata - Mourinho
Of course the link will be non-existant when you play Mikel who has limited passing range and rarely carries the ball forward, Ramires who is more dribbler than passer and the physically declining Lampard. Who plays that 10 role will always look bad at creating the link because they would have to drop 15-20m deeper than needed on most teams.Gil wrote:We've been a tactical mess for years now and the link between attack and defense has been almost non-existent and it shows in our League form.

Re: Oscar > Mata - Mourinho
I imagine the mental part of the game is also plays a big part in Jose's selection choices. He doesn't really like "soft" players and Mata kind of is imo.
Having said that I'm not sure about Jose's reasoning here. Mata is an offensive asset and Chelsea's problem is up front so forcing Mata out is wrong imo, not because Mata is this super player that can't be replaced but rather because he has a skill set that can help Chelsea.
Chelsea can of course put this all to bed if they fix their attack in some other way.

sorry want to clear you up here
Miekl does not have limited passing..
its Chelsea that limits him, he was bought as an AM and cuz he is big and African like every typical European team he was converted to DM

Re: Oscar > Mata - Mourinho
Doesnt matter what the reasons for it are, but currently, his passing is very limited.
Perhaps if he was played in his former role when he first arrived (again under Mourinho) and therefore gained the confidence and so forth, he would be a different. But right now, for whatever reason, his passing range is very limited.

Re: Oscar > Mata - Mourinho
This is all about Jose blaming players when things are going badly... been there, done that. Whenever criticism can be thrown his way, he throws a couple of players under the bus. Mata is the perfect target for this. If one is not enough, he'll find another.

Re: Oscar > Mata - Mourinho
this is exactly why he didnt sell mata outright. Because they may reach the point where things are so bad that he has no choice but playing Mata, and he knows how good mata is, how useful he could be. this is a guy that made Higuain and benzema compete for 3 years and wasted everyone's time.Zealous wrote:I imagine the mental part of the game is also plays a big part in Jose's selection choices. Re: Oscar > Mata - Mourinho
Mikel was a AM when he came to Chelsea and Mou ruined him by trying to make him a DM lol... Mikel doesn't know what he is anymore. On NT, he's the creator, which is more natural for him.
Mata is in no way soft. He's the exact clone of Silva and Cazorla except he's better than those two imo. He's just a small guy who has to attack you with skill and finesse... nothing wrong with that.
Mata-Hazard had really developed a great understanding of each other... too bad really.

Re: Oscar > Mata - Mourinho
forgot to highlight the infinite class of mourinho, blaming mata for the loss, after saying that he never blames players"He played against Basle, not like Ba or Mikel coming in to rescue the game, but he came on when the team were winning 1-0 and had specific tasks.
‘The reasons why he’s not playing so much are things I can speak about with him but not with you.

Re: Oscar > Mata - Mourinho
He also claimed the Basel players faked injuries. Total fake that Fabian Schär was kicked so hard by that ruffian Demba Ba that he is out for the next match... Reminds me of that red card that shouldn't have been given after the foul against Mario Götze in the SuperCup because it wasn't that bad...Mr Nick09 wrote:forgot to highlight the infinite class of mourinho, blaming mata for the loss, after saying that he never blames players

Mou is losing his "special" touch. He has already brought out the bag o'bullsht that he carried from Spain.

what has Pardew gotten from Mourinho?

Re: Oscar > Mata - Mourinho
typical of Mou. he doesn't like it when fans/media campaign for a guy to start/get playing time eventhough its evident that they deserve to
how long till he ditches Luiz for good
Mou does everything backhanded, he waited till the window was closed before telling Mata he wasn't in his plans by purpose. he is a scumbag who always points to trophies won whenever he gets criticised
cant wait for pellegrini to whip his ass both tactically and by claas when city and chelsea meet. "When I leave I wont coach malaga" well here you go son he is coaching City and will finish ahead of you in the league and go further than you in cl. cant wait for his lovely excuse then.....if he is still coaching chelsea that is
