Etihad Stadium 22/9/2013 Manchester City - Manchester United EPL
We must win this game. It's essential for Moyes and for the boys.

I think one problem is which Valencia will turn up? Every time I think Valencia is back to his old self, he somehow shows last seasons formVlad the Impaler wrote:
However, the question is: who is going to play against City? Valencia will be for sure on the right, but what about the left side? Will it be Kagawa, Young or Nani? I'd go with Young or Nani due to the fact that they are more experienced in those kind of matches with City at Etihad. Also, Kagawa doesn't have enough minutes yet...for a match like this, you must be physically ready.
We should continue this in the City - United thread.
As for Kagawa, against Liverpool and Chelsea our team was in desperate need for a player like him, against City it will most likely be the same. Even though, he didn't have the greatest performance yesterday, he was involved in the goal and gave a good pass to Van Persie, which could have easily ended up as a goal. So he only really needs one moment in these type of games. He doesn't have to start (if not fit), but a substitute appearance might be needed from him.
Nani, if fit, I think should start. He looked dangerous against Liverpool when he came on, despite not being match fit. He also plays well against Man City.
Finally, I'm not too keen on Young, yes he has improved, but we have better options. Plus, against Zabaleta, who is arguably the best RB in the league, he will find it hard.
P.S Giggs has not played the last two games. I won't be surprised if he features on Sunday.

Re: Etihad Stadium 22/9/2013 Manchester City - Manchester United EPL
i still feel Kagawa should start against Chitty.. reason being obvious - need for more creativity and better penetration. But that being said rooney and fellaini are capable of providing that i know. Still he is too good a player to leave behind in these important games
His fitness is an issue so may be he can play for an hour and then subbed with may be Giggs
so I will go with Kagawa on the left and both Nani and Valencia on the right and Valencia as the RB Valencia-Nani combo on the right worked well in the liverpool match even though it didnt materialise in a goal. Its less likely to happen i know in a crunch game like that and opting for a conventional rb would be less risky. but outta the box thinking is forcing me to go with this
I am sceptical though about the idea of going with Smalling once again in a big match like that. Next best option is rafael and i see him returning in that game to that right back role.
Zaha should be on the bench and so as Januzaj and the intro of one of those guys as a second half sub can lend the team an air of raw freshness and outta the box impetus and can be a tactical advantage as the opponents would have done relatively lesser home work on how to counter them as they are new to this stage
so my 11 against citty

FFS just play Valencia at right back and stick Zaha in the wings along with Nani. Problem solved.

Dominated from start to finish by City. 2-0 down at HT. Can't see us getting back into it.
Rooney is by far our most dangerous player, but he can't do it on his own.
fck it.

What kind of stupid obvious tactic is that to let Rooney alone dropped deeper to feed Young, Welbeck, and Valencia? It's like playing 4213 with only one player pulling the strings. It's the worst way to utilize your players. The tactic is just simply awful.

I was very tempted to say "why haven't City mauled us 6 - 0 in the first half?" but I held back.
Now, I'm not hesitant to say it.
"Welbeck is the future" they say... Kiss my ass.

Great fk by Rooney. Consolation.
As for everyone else, bar DDG and Rooney, complete crap. No fight whatsoever. Our defence was a shambles. Rio and Smalling had a nightmare and as for Young...............he could possibly be contender for the worst United player ever. I don't think I've ever disliked a Utd player more than him.

No suprise when you guys took off Young, you looked a much better team. I have no idea why Moyes plays that diving and useless pansy instead of Kagawa. He must of slept with Moyes wife just like Mata slept with Mourinho's wife.

Nothing left to say apart from this dear manager moyes is attempting desperately to transform great united to everton. trusting wrong players repeatedly, curbing the clubs attacking game, battling hard to get into the top 4 just like everton, this is not united what we witnessed . even our youth team will play better than this. Icing on the cake will be the departurea of some world class players come january read that kagawa chicha and januzaj next summer. moyes can go on trusting wrlbeck young smalling and all those shites. I am not even feeling sorry for the team n moyes as a matter of fact, he asked for this n he got it.

We lost the game even before kick-off, that line-up .
Kagawa and Nani didn't even come on
Defence was poor anyway, a very hard game to salvage anything from after 4-0.
I agree with Lumiere, Moyes is trusting the wrong players.

Re: Etihad Stadium 22/9/2013 Manchester City - Manchester United EPL
welbeck as of now is best as a winger. moyes is a fool to pledge to transform him into a goal scoring centre forward. to replace rvp with him is inviting trouble. and that's when we have a specialist like chicha who is on the bench just because of rvp. chicha should come automatically into the 11 whenever rvp is absent, a natural goal poacher and he always performed in big matches. no footballing brain is needed to know that, just some simple logic will tell you that.it has been always welbeck welbeck n welbeck for moyes. welb especially like he always in big games was seen simply running around like a chicken in search of that elusive ball yesterday, he lacks the most important attribute for a forward, composure... moyes is blind ffs i think.

missed the match live was away all weekend, had to watch it recorded when i got home....knew it was going to be a long day when I seen Young on the team sheet again.
Fellaini hasn't solved crap with our midfield, still lack a incisive creative force, we have 2 CM's who play the safe pass 95% of the time, Rooney was cut out of the game because he was relied on as our only creativity and push through the middle which let Kompany just shadow him knowing our midfield will not carry the ball up or beat any player through the middle and worry about being out of position.
