On top form he is behind Ibra, Aguero, Suarez and maybe a few others. Let's not kneejerk because he beasted against a meh Netherlands defence.

Forgot about Suarez. I don't rate Aguero that high.

Goalie could of done better.

It was hit pretty hard Dani and across his body. Since it's a volley, the goalie knows the shot is going to be hard and has to protect the near post for sure, which is the most likely target since he's running away from the goal... i didn't think he could hit it hard like that across his body while running in the opposite direction either. I can see why the keeper wasn't anticipating.

The most impressive thing last night wasn't the goal either... he took over leadership of the team with Ribery not playing. Bossed the game. He stayed up to start to see if his team could handle buildup without him (like he's doing at Madrid). Once he saw that the buildup needed help, he came up and participated in every dangerous play.

Benz made that goal too.

The one he scored that was disallowed was very nice too.

I can see he hit it very hard, he got a great connection on it and I dont disagree with any of what you said. Still think it was savable. Perhaps just not for that goalie in particular.

@ people acting like suarez is untouchable benz is 3 goals off him and kun definitely ain't better than benzema, typical gl rating players according to hype . 

suarez is untouchable, if you dont want him to dive that is...

Zidane/Carlo have put urgency into this guys head without them he wouldn't have made this turn around

 He's on the exact same pace as 2011-2012 Hala.  The difference is that fanboyism isn't dividing opinions at Madrid now...  That said, i think he's made his game more complete than before.  He's actually a threat on crosses in the air now.  Nothing special...  but you can't ignore his air game anymore.

To me, the striker role is like the keeper role.... it's all about being comfortable and confident. Mou made life uncomfortable for everyone last year.

Any other coach and he would probably have been benched around October and a striker brought in in January but Carlo/Zidane stuck by him and their confidence paid off

Zidane has probably tought him to improve his alround game, even in the 2011/2012 season he couldn't head a ball to save his life, he chases every lose ball now which he never did for us before and actually shows urgency in the way he plays. Again I attribute this to the brilliant support he had on the bench without them he wouldn't have improved

Mourinho destroyed the confidence of many of our players, thank god Carlo came in

I did not say he is untouchable, I just think he is better because of what he has done for the past two sesaon while missing like 15 games from bans and shit. And why is Kun 'definitely' not better? Good God, you would think we are comparing Benzema with Giroud lol.

that's not nice to giroud, and if you want to look at the past two seasons, why not the past 3?

Benzema is up there with Suarez/Aguero when on form. It's just Suarez/Aguero are the main strikers at their club's, which is why they're hyped more. Benzema has Ronaldo.

I agree that at Madrid... the patience meter is usually 2-4 weeks at best Lost many a good/great player because of the instant gratification thing we suffer from.

my point is when benzema is on form he is just as good as any bar ibra, and if carlo continue to increase his role in the team, he will take games into his hands more often, his overall game is very impressive and under appreciated.

The only thing kun or suarez has over benzema right now is dribbling and creating their own shots, but in time benzema gonna start doing those again too.

@hala only mou would do that cause he is a bad man manager, instead of trying to help he would say "he is a cat and i need a new striker", how is that going to give him confidence? any other manager would have done what carlo did if the player is a has talented as benzema, like balotelli for example his talent give him a lot of leeway with managers. so don't act like every manager is like mou.

He's scoring more regularly now which is fantastic for him but he's not close to the level of Suarez, Van Persie, Aguero or Ibra.

He's more comparable to the likes of Diego Costa, Rooney, Sturridge & Higuain.

we will see at the end of the season what's what, but i expect a different tune come in the end.

 Actually that's not true.  Mou was trying to force Benzema out at the time because he wanted Madrid to buy a striker with Higuain hurt and Valdano refused to do it...  Fortunately, Benz didn't go crazy on Mou and just let his play do the talking.  In fact, the turning point came when Benz asked to meet Mou one-on-one that January and asked Mou to trust him... the fact that he confronted Mou privately and without fuss impressed Mourinho and the rest is history.  After that, Mou was never fully sold on Benz still... but he now had respect for him.

Mou needs scapegoats. He needs to keep a few players lined up in case he needs to throw them under the bus.

The amount of sitters he missed in this game alone is incredible.

4 misses, 2 goals. This guy is so frustrating lol.

ronaldo is the flop here . he couldn't even put himself in dangerous positions.
