Ronaldo was poor but what does that have to do with this thread?

What misses? I remember 1 clear miss and a header which was difficult but there were no '4' clear misses anywhere?

he scored 2 times, cant call that a bad performance

Two at the beginning, second one was especially bad.

Then after the brace, the header.

Then in 2nd half he shot straight at the keeper.

Credit to him, he was actually on of Madrid's better players. Linked up beautifully with his teammates, especially Di Maria.

He was great.

Wish some of his earlier chances feel to someone else, but he got the job done.

Also, he was playing hurt.

Benzema did well I'm not gonna bash him for those chances.

He had 4 missed chances.

1 sure was a sitter the 2nd was a difficult header, 3rd was an off the line clearance and the 4th was a decent save from Valdes.

people here tend to foucus on the negative a little too much .

even before entering the thread i knew they'd be some whining about the missed chances.that's unwarranted criticism imo.

I said he was one of Madrid's best players. He did good but he could have killed of the game too. Those misses deserve criticism as much as his goals and overall performance deserve praise.

i know what you said M99, my criticism was more directed toward annoying trolls like the TS .

apparently , the day benzema is back to being a joke , is the same day when he scored his first brace against barcelona , and the same day he scored more goals from open play than anyone in a classico .

Benzema did adequately. He scored 2 goals, however he did miss a couple of chances as well.

He had some occasions and scored 2 . As if strikers usually score more than half of their chances.

Benzema did better in a big game than i have seen Suarez all season. And that's considering that there is no team of the level of barca in EPL.

Can we ban Gil from making threads?

He had a cortizone shot in his right thigh before the game too... injured last week remember and was noticeably wincing in practice yday. He tested it early but couldn't plant hard to get power in his shots. He was reduced to taking stab shots.

Something to consider and he still played great.

After he missed that left foot sitter, it wouldnt of surprised me to see him crumble and do nothing. Instead he ruthlessly brutalised that scrub Mascherano. And on top of that, held the ball up and brought others into play.

He was very good.

I dont know what world you people live in where strikers score every chance they get, but my respect for his mental approach increased after today.

What are people smoking? He played well ffs! He missed 2 chances? And? At least he turned up. Bale and Ronaldo flopped.

Those need to stop. Considering Benzema is naturally an endomorphic body type to whom will not respond to these temporary medical injections, it can have serious long term effects on his nerves and micro structure to which football sports medicine still bafflingly advises.

Long term consequences can be devastating.

Big game Arqi and Jese was injured... he had to play. It's not like he's ever had to do this before. This was an emergency situation.

Love how noone has criticsed ROnaldo for flopping in this game. I swear this forum has something against Benz. Did he bang your sisters or something?

"Very good" is a bit of a stretch. This is probably Benzema's best performance of the season but he needs to be more clinical in the future. Teams like Bayern, Chelsea or PSG won't concede as many chances as Barcelona did today nor will he have a distinct height advantage over his marker like he did today.

His performance reminded me of Torres against Man Utd a couple of years ago where he missed that infamous sitter. He tore them to shreds and scored two very good goals. But missed two clear cut chances which ultimately led to his team losing a high scoring match.

Yeah but fair play to him unlike Higuain he didn't go into hiding and was persistent. Unlucky to be subbed off as well.
