Cesc won't leave for sure, he's been one of our best players this season, especially the way we're playing with Martino fits Cesc playing style! Why would we sell him?

About Cesc asking for playing time, he's just answering a media's question and saying the same thing any player would say. No one likes to set on the bench and he's been playing regularly this season anyway!

None of Mascherano and Song are able to play the DM role the way they should. But, I'd pick Song over Mascherano for now!

I would sell Mascherano in the summer and buy a natural Center back to replace him. Keep Song for another season and give Samper some playing time and if proves himself [2014-15], he'll start rotating with Busquets in 2015-16 [sell Song].

Cesc is far from our best player this season..
he still flops in big games, today is a big example of his magical disappearing act.
I rather keep Mascherano over Song for two reasons:
1) More versatile, can play DM and CB if need be
2) Chemistry, most of the team always posts pictures with the guy, go to lunch with him etc.

Are you kidding? Mascherano doesnt play any position well. He wont ever play DM for us again, he was disastrous.

At least Song plays one position half decent.

If we sell Mascherano, we are left with 2 defenders, that being Bartra and Pique.. I wont count Puyol for obvious reasons he will be 36 in April he could retire any day now.

so come new transfer market you expect us to sell our only real bench defender? and expect to buy two more, I know these situations are unlikely but try to be as most realistic as possible.

Mascherano is only in the team because he is Messi's argentine pal and the coach is argentine. And because he has a great personality, speach and leadership qualities.

I dont care about likely or not, its already well documented we make retarded decisions.

But you justifiying these decisions makes even less sense.

If we lack 2 defenders, then sign 2 defenders.

And how about we just do something we already done before. Have a fullback who is capable of also playing centerback. Seeing as Montoya is struggling, Adriano is always injured, Alba cant defend and Dani Alves is over 30 its not like we couldnt use one either.

Its not really rocket science meaning keeping scrub players who arent good enough are the only viable options.

If it were up to me I'd sell both Mascherano and Song.
I understand were your coming from but selling many players in one transfer window and buying equal amount would only cause us more problems.
We'd require people to cope with an already difficult playing style with people they do not know.
It doesn't benefit the team.

Look at Madrid for example..

I couldnt point to many examples of many changes in one summer which resulted in alot of positives.

For example the summer we signed Etoo, Larsson, Deco etc etc.

buying lots of strikers = / = buying defenders

strikers rarely need to talk, all they need to do is get in good position receive and do solo work in scoring etc.

every single person we're linked to speaks different languages and will come from a different country..
German keeper.. Brazilian defenders, positions that require heavily the ability to communicate with one another to play as a team.

buying all of these in one season would be a real struggle, but are a requirement.

We signed 2 strikers...we also signed 2 defenders so....

Wouldn't mind offloading Montoya (not Barca level), and Tello barely plays as is and will play less when Deulofeu comes back.

Tello can go. Most 1-dimensional player who has ever been promoted to Barca's first team, no doubt.

Montoya wouldn't be the biggest loss either but we need the depth at fullback. If we sold him we'd definitely have to buy someone else. Adriano is made of glass and Alves too is getting more and more injured these days. Montoya can play both positions.

Yeah, but Bartra said repeatedly that he's happy and wants to stay. Club just seems to be fighting about incentives for his agent with his agent and that's all that is holding a renewal back.

So.. Iniesta, Montoya, Bartra are the ones with the contract running out anyone else?

Well, if we count Iniesta whose contract is running up in 2015, then Alves belongs in that group, too. Also 2015.

it seems that Iniesta, Pique and Bartra are very close to renew until 2018/2019. the real problem is Montoya.

By the way, there's some rumors that Aguero wants to join Barcelona and they have contacted him. He wants to play next season with Messi at Barcelona. What do you think?

you need to find a replacement for Puyol. Aguero is great, but how much money do you have to spend as a whole, and where are your priorities?!?

The overhaul that was rumored to be happening last summer never happened. I would be ok with it happening this summer

Sell Pedro or Alexis (or both?) and replace with Kun or Reus.  
Bring in a defender or two and sell Song or Mascherano (one needs to back up Busquets)
New GK (Ter Stegen with Reina as back up seems likely)
bring in a Xavi back up.

We will have the cash to get it done, no excuses.Money from players leaving would be pretty good
