After letting Pardew go, Kiennar will say that he had no choice but to step in, seeing the lack of quality managers out there.

Crystal Palace
Getting promoted has cost Holloway his job. No manager will keep them up this season.

Well the good thing is even if Pulis does come in, there is almost zero chance he'll be able to keep this team full of Championship quality players in PL. And Pulis will never work in the Championship. Almost every team plays his style there

FYI before everyone starts lambasting Palace....
They didn't sack him, Holloway tried to resign after the Fulham game and Palace have now accepted that resignation.

What makes you think that? As awful as Pulis is, his tactics are rightly suited to a team which wants to avoid relegation. Having a strong defense is what helps when fighting relegation.. and Pulis employs that. Some strict tactical organization is required, something which Holloway lacks and Pulis has in abundance, nevermind how crap that is to watch. Not to mention this Crystal Palace team is much better than his Stoke of 08-09.McAgger wrote:Well the good thing is even if Pulis does come in, there is almost zero chance he'll be able to keep this team full of Championship quality players in PL. That's quite weird unless he's looking to retire or take a break. Voluntarily leaving a Premiership club with just a quarter of the season in without a new job waiting for him.Great Leader Sprucenuce wrote:FYI before everyone starts lambasting Palace....

Re: Barclay's Premier League discussion '13-'14 V2
Thing is Palace's players are just not good enough to even cut it for a relegation fodder in PL. They are very average Championship players. So first it will take months for Pulis to engrave his system into the Palace team and then the players will just not be good enough.ExtremistEnigma wrote:What makes you think that? Re: Barclay's Premier League discussion '13-'14 V2
Holloway 'too tired'. I couldn't really understand his reasoning, seemed to be talking in circles. I think the jist of it was that he felt he couldn't inspire the players anymore or something. Basically said he wasn't good enough.

Re: Barclay's Premier League discussion '13-'14 V2
Yeah, it's a little confusing. Either he needs a break or then he thought that Palace are going to have an embarassing season and rather left now with his reputation still quite high.Firenze wrote:Holloway 'too tired'. Massive respect for Holloway as a person, but is he PL quality in terms of being a manager?
Second stint in the highest division and couldn't cut it either time.

Re: Barclay's Premier League discussion '13-'14 V2
Arsenal and Spurs will get a nice goal difference boost.
Bitters to draw.
Liverpool to lose to Clarke, again. Might sneak a draw with Lukaku not playing.
United have to win and should. 94th minute equaliser from Charlie Adam would be sweet, though.
Chelsea and City will be an interesting one. Two counter-attacking teams playing against each other. Individual brilliance will win it, if not a bore draw.
The Tyneside derby should be the most exciting game this weekend but Pardew will ruin that one up for the neutrals.

Haha
Scott Wilson @Scottwilsonecho 12m
Some surprise team news from Alan Pardew at #NUFC - Fabricio Coloccini has a chance of making the derby. "He's had a really good week."
Scott Wilson @Scottwilsonecho 8m
Pardew on Steven Taylor: "He's okay and trained this week. We're going to see whether he's going to start." #NUFC
We have been saying all week that both will miss and we'll have to play Dummett ( a LB by trade) and Williamson at CB and now they might play
We also said Coloccini would be out till Christmas 2 days ago

Arsenal will win.
Villa vs Everton will be the darkhorse match of the weekend. Villa will win.
We will get outplayed but I think we will win.
United will win.
Norwich vs Cardiff City.. Battle of the Scrubs.
Southampton vs Fulham.. Not sure. As good as Soton are at the moment, don't think they'll win this. I think this will be a goalless draw. 0-0
Tyneside Derby will be a high scoring draw I guess.. Sunderland are a mess but they'll turn up against their rivals.
Chelsea will outclass Man City.. to win by atleast 2 goals.
Swansea will win.
A draw or a narrow win for Spuds.

Hoping for a draw between City and Chelsea. Don't really see an upset anywhere else.

Re: Barclay's Premier League discussion '13-'14 V2
I can see Everton dropping points. Both or one of Chelsea/City obviously. And I think Stoke might be able to hold United onto a 0-0. But as long as we win, I don't care much. Tough match this is going to be though, Clarke you evil genius you
