Kaboul injured, Chiriches probably too new.free_cat wrote:Wow, Dawson f*cking sucks. Why does he play? Doesn't spurs have Kaboul or Chiriches?
But I agree, Dawson is woeful. I am sure AVB doesnt like him, but he dont have a choice right now.
That being said, I was surprised he sold Caulker, who to me is quite decent for a young guy. Better than Dawson easily.

Caulker is very average. Dawson is terrible and Rose is even worse. The Franchise wrote:Kaboul injured, Chiriches probably too new.free_cat wrote:Wow, Dawson f*cking sucks. Why does he play? Doesn't spurs have Kaboul or Chiriches?

Tottenham buy a new LB and they're golden. Too late for a new RB, Walker will have to do. Tottenham should look into a new RB for next season or in January.
Otherwise the squad is fantastic. Wouldn't read too much into today's result.

Re: Barclay's Premier League discussion '13-'14 V2
I think a lot of people owe Giroud an apology.
Like I have been saying all off season I would be mad too at my club not spending any money but backing out of the Higuain sweepstakes when the money got stupid and giving Giroud the chance to improve on his good first season in the EPL was the absolute correct move.
And again like I have been saying, Giroud barring injuries will be in the top 3 in goals in the EPL and will have over 30 total goals this season.
I really like Giroud a lot, his movement is excellent.

No, the entire front 6 are new...I already questioned how this is going to work, think it will take time. The result or even performance shouldnt be read much into.CBarca wrote:Caulker is very average. But I have to say, I did predict 5th place and obviously I havent changed my mind on that.
As for those guys, yeah, both Dawson and Rose at fault for the goal. I liked Caulker, thought he was a decent 4th choice CB. Then again im used to Adriano being a 4th choice CB and anyone even average will do for me.

" arsenal have no chance"
" spurs 4-1 Arsenal"
" arsenal have bought nobody, so spurs wll win"
I could go on from quotes I heard from here and beyond the Internetsphere
but..
have they scored from open play yet?

Re: Barclay's Premier League discussion '13-'14 V2
Team obviously needs time but I think 5th is harsh. Tottenham started the same way last year and by December started something like a 12 game unbeaten run and looked good until Sandro got injured and Dembele repeatedly was injured because of his hip. Then the team looked OK but it was because of Bale really. The Franchise wrote:No, the entire front 6 are new...I already questioned how this is going to work, think it will take time. Not concerned about the result at all, the sky is the limit here.
New LB needs to come in regardless. Rose is shocking.

Re: Barclay's Premier League discussion '13-'14 V2
If I have to predict now based on the quality and fit of all the teams and coaches, I have to go 5th. I just dont think they finish above Arsenal or Chelsea.
I am very sure they will improve from today and get stronger as the season goes on and even though Arsenal have signed noone, I think first of all they will but even if not, the improvement of Giroud and Ramsey will keep them in 4th atleast.
Perhaps Lamela and Eriksen can sway me, its stil early. But if I am thinking right now, thats my prediction.

Re: Barclay's Premier League discussion '13-'14 V2
Fair enough. For me over the course of the season, it's about depth. This is of course assuming the team isn't like Barca where even if we get a couple injuries we'll roll over the competition (most likely) regardless. Tottenham have much more depth then Arsenal and Liverpool. I'm biased of course but I just see Arsenal as a couple injuries away from a disaster, just like what happened to Tottenham last year.
Either way, it's far too early to tell, only real predictions can be made at around January imo

Thats true and I really dont like predicting anyway honestly, things change quickly and what was correct at one point and can be completely different in a short time.

Re: Barclay's Premier League discussion '13-'14 V2
He has scored two penalties, but Soldado hasn't looked like a £26m player to me yet. Tottenham are creating very little for him, though, when Defoe came on they looked like they knew much better how to play with him.
Anyway, our game wasn't pretty but it doesn't have to be when it's against the Mancs. Three wins out of three!
