Re: Champions League 2013/2014 discussion
Becaus they're not up to much.
We faced Bilbao in the Europa leg ffs, we couldn't give two shits about it. Are they better than Madrid who couldn't create a chance v us over two legs until nani was sent off?
Alright then

No we didn't. We actually played worse v Ajax in the previous round. But utd were beat so obviously we gave 100% and were outplayed by the superior technical gods from spain.
Barca struggled in the two games v Celtic last year. Should they fear Kilmarnock now?

I don't know about fifty times better but I'm sure Utd would be very wary of not underestimating such a side as La Real.halamadrid2 wrote:Sociedad are fifty times better than the Bilbao you faced. be prepared for a rude awakeningcyberman wrote:Piss easy for utd. Did I miss the big awakening for sociadad? When did they become a powerhouse? When the 2nd seeds have sold their best players, it's an easy group. It's easy because the other three are on the same level and will take points off each other. It'll be hard to keep up. Done and dusted. Oh and arsenal lolz

IMO Arsenal will get through but will have a lot of difficulty doing so.

After Mourinho signed with Chelsea, he said:
"Europa League is like that: First, you win it. Why win it? You won it because you lost the second place in the group stages of UCL. The second reason: In UCL, you are not playing with teams like Steaua Bucharest."

They're not really in the same realm as Man Utd. Your problem is the club, not what they're saying.Suarez99 wrote:English media talking like Man U have an easy group saying Sociedad & Bayer "arnt up to much"

if you think its you who will counter Sociedad then you really don't know anything about them. They will let you keep the ball and hit you on the countercyberman wrote:Becaus they're not up to much.

I will laugh hard if Man City don't get to the KO stages this year.
Man Utd and Arsenal have the toughest draws and those two groups will be the most fun to watch, along with the Porto - Atletico Madrid - Zenit group.

Let's be honest; Sociedad massively overachieved last season and coupled with the implosion at Valencia they qualified for the CL.halamadrid2 wrote:if you think its you who will counter Sociedad then you really don't know anything about them. Alright then
They've lost arguably their greatest asset and brought in Granero and some Swiss lad.
They'll not qualify for the CL this season and they'll not get out of that group.

Re: Champions League 2013/2014 discussion
Pardo, Prieto and Martinez are also their greatest asset as well. Not to mention Vela. Asier was a key player but the side itself is still potent. Not enough to make it to the R16 I'm afraid...

Re: Champions League 2013/2014 discussion
Its about time ffs.
Arsenal and Manu have some serious tricky group. I think Manu group is really strong that any one can finish any where. BVB, Napoli and Arsenal will make the most interesting group this time around.
The B group winners most probably will be between Juve and Real...who ever winning the head to head imo.
Atletico madrid has strong chance of qualifying as well since the group is wide open for any one to take.

overachieved?? you do know they were unbeaten for a longer stretch than barca/real last season???The_Badger wrote:Let's be honest; Sociedad massively overachieved last season and coupled with the implosion at Valencia they qualified for the CL.halamadrid2 wrote:if you think its you who will counter Sociedad then you really don't know anything about them. Illaramendi might have left but Granero wasn't signed to replace him. they already have the replacement. Granero is just there for depth
they didn't need many players, just a winger and some depth in defence and midfield.

It really isn't..... Zenit are meh and Porto are rebuilding again. Atletico really should walk that group with ease.Adit wrote:Its about time ffs.
