Re: Champions League 2014/15 | Group A
nah , Michel isn't getting Olympiacos out of the group stage this season. Atletico are already through and Juventus , well , what are the chances they miss out of 16 a 2nd time in a row? Close to 0 , i guess.
On top of that , Michel lost Manolas and Holebas to Roma and Samaris to Benfica . Sold Saviola to Hellas Verona . Mitroglou got back on loan , but in bad form after his time at Fulham , he's not half the player he was last season before his move to England.
Michel did some interesting additions to his squad , best of all Afellay and Abidal . Half the 11 is new and from the couple of games i saw , there's no way this team has any chance against Atletico . They will give up a fight at home , there's no doubt about it they always do no matter what , but Atletico should win this game without much trouble .
Mitchel seems more confident though so idk really. It will be an intense game , that is for sure. Mitchel said Atletico "will look in the mirror" , lol

Nah Michel got this, he's going to give Atleti a tough match win lose or draw imo.
As for Juventus they should make it but who knows, that club transforms the second the CL song gets played in the speakers lol

let's just say i am pessimistic about their chances in the group stage this season . They are not a bad team by any means and Michel is a fantastic coach . I hope they do well tonight.
Benin , maybe not for Barcelona anymore.. but for Olympiacos he is an asset.

3 wins 3 clean sheets. 5-0 in 3 games.

Allegri even got Tevez to score in the CL, something that has not happened since 2011.

Atleti losing the first game and Olympiakos picking up 3 points against Atleti made this group a whole lot more interesting...

I'm expecting a really boring game or two against Atleti
Two hard working, gritty teams that defend with everybody behind the ball

Re: Champions League 2014/15 | Group A
Atleti don't play with everyone behind the ball though... they only do that against Madrid and Barca because it's the best way to win given the talent gap. Against everyone else, they go right at them. Are they always defensively disciplined? Sure. But they look to defend as a group and attack as a group. People are basing their opinions on games that they get to see on TV, which are always Madrid and Barca.
I mean look at the Chelsea matchup last season. Atleti went right at Chelsea at home and did so in the second half of the game away.

Of course when they're off the ball they are going to be compact and have the numbers behind the ball. It's a 100% guarantee. As will we at times.
