Re: BREAKING: Inter officially sold, 70 % owned by Thohir. Moratti steps down
Romanian news announces that the deal is done and that Thohir wants to buy Verratti (PSG), Montoya (Barca), Gaston Ramirez (I think now at Southhampton), Insúa (Atletico) and Ibarbo (Cagliari).
Have not seen this in the English speaking media yet.
"Omul de afaceri din Indonezia a anuntat si primele tinte ale celor de la Inter: Marco Verratti (de la PSG), Martin Montoya (FC Barcelona), Gaston Ramirez Insua si Ibarbo.

Re: BREAKING: Inter officially sold, 70 % owned by Thohir. Moratti steps down
He is a business man no doubt about that, but i guess that's what we need at this time if we're going to turn a profit anytime soon. Thing is Juvi is also run as a business as they dont rely on capital injections by the owners as much as the other Italian teams and it's working for them if you ask me. The Moratti family will also have first refusal and first option to buy in case Thohir lost interest so they're not completely out of the picture.DeviAngel wrote:on Macedonian forums, Inter fans cry because of this lol. Because this guy owns DC United and he doesn't want even to spend a penny and some other company's and teams he is businessman nothing moreBarrileteCosmico wrote:Can someone tell me anything about Thohir? Is he likely to go on a spending frenzy or be fiscally conservative?
As for DC United, i havnt done my research on that yet but what i read yesterday is that he recently kicked off the plans to build a new stadium, something he promised the fans when he bought the club but delayed for some time. That could be viewed as both positive and negative so ill hold judgement for now.
Any DC United fans around here ?

I wouldnt believe that we're set for a spending spree yet. We're already reached out losses limit as far as the FFP is concerned so unless Thohir is bringing a new revenue stream with him like a sponsorship deal we will not be spending any outrageous amounts

Italian clubs just need better marketing and also they should work on an better TV deal. Businessman like Thornir will know that and they will know what to do.

From what I have read, Thohir plans to go on a spending spree in line with his background in media. The stadium will require years to build so buying players that have drawing power is really the only way he can generate the hoopala necessary for increased sponsorship that will pay for the new players.zizzle wrote:I wouldnt believe that we're set for a spending spree yet. I understand the logic behind what you're saying but non of the players the report mentioned has a significant global reputation. They are good players who can improve the team but they wont generate much media attention.inter1lachen wrote:From what I have read, Thohir plans to go on a spending spree in line with his background in media. Re: BREAKING: Inter officially sold, 70 % owned by Thohir. Moratti steps down
I guess he is trying to get players that are young enough to be useful for sometime that he thinks with his media resources can get hyped up in Asia.
But, as an Inter supporter, how do you feel about Inter being the first club in Italy to go to foreign ownership. How did the English club fans feel when they became foreign owned?
Note: Roma doesn't count because I bet that Italians think that Italian-Americans are not that foreign.

As a non Italian Inter fan i dont see a problem with foreign ownership as long as it serves the best interests of the club, after all we're called Internazionale for a reason.

Re: BREAKING: Inter officially sold, 70 % owned by Thohir. Moratti steps down
^Arsenal is a money making enterprise while Inter is a money burning machine, of course its worth more.
I'm sad to see Moratti go, he and his father have pretty much made the club but times pass and we now need different things in this new FFP world.
I'm not Italian, but as an Inter fan i don't mind one bit Thohir isn't Italian. It goes with the club philosophy and i wouldn't want it any other way, we're an international club.

Re: BREAKING: Inter officially sold, 70 % owned by Thohir. Moratti steps down
New owner is also taking 400+ million debt with the club,so take the price is probably minus that...BarcaLearning wrote:Will need to read up on this, too lazy, but does 300M sounds VERY little or what????
