Can someone tell me anything about Thohir? Is he likely to go on a spending frenzy or be fiscally conservative?

Moratti has done lots for Inter. He backed them with money year in year out

Inter need some smarter people at corporate level and Moratti and his people weren't cutting it, so good for them if it is true.

i am not quite sure who inter can actually buy with this guy's money i mean alot of the players that wanted a move have allready left who would they try and get dzeko? mad,rid,psg rejects like sakho? does anyone know how much money this guy will give inter in the market?

Hasn't Moratti been saying that he'll keep hold of the majority of the shares?

Personally speaking, I wouldn't want an Italian club to lose its identity. (Yes, Inter is an Italian club).

Apparently, Thohir wants to sign Lavezzi for Inter, and some Indonesian news also reports that Thohir's wealth is worth 8 billion USD.

According to what i read Thohir has allocated 100m for transfers. The negotiations has taken so long because Moratti is holding out for a new stadium to be part of the deal while Thohir wants to renovate the San Siro. No idea what the final agreement is but apparently Moratti will remain the president for the time being so im assuming he dropped his demands for that.

As for transfer targets Lavezzi's name has been thrown around at the end of last season but now that we Mazzari is planning to use 3 5 2 with two wing backs im not sure how Lavezzi would fit into that. It's a well known fact that Inter has been chasing Isla for some time and if Juvi is still willing to sell (they postponded the negotiations today for some reason) we'd complete his signing soon. Another player that we failed to acquire due to lack of finances is Nainggolan (who is half Indonesian) so he might be on the top of our list. Apart from plugging these holes we'll need to sign WC/Elite (whatever GL is calling them these days) players to improve the quality of the team and there isnt much left on the market.

Dont see it at all.The latter seems very likely.

I read his interview a few weeks ago on GDS and he says he wants to build a 'young team'.He's going to spend but certainly nowhere the level of prestigious clubs like PSG or Monaco.

Moratti commented on the negotiations with Indonesian businessman Erick Thohir, amid reports the buy-out will include a provision to bring PSG chief Leonardo in as general manager.

Deal isn't done yet but apparently a meeting in London will be made tomorrow, ofc Moratti is denying it.

Thohir apparently isn't going to be a sugar daddy pumping in money, what he brings to the table is contacts that are willing to sponsor Inter and cash for a new stadium or Meazza renovation.

As much as I hate inter which is obviously alot being a Juve fan I really hope that Thoir buys a marquee player for Inter as some sort of present I would love to see lavezzi in serie a he is one of my favourite players. I am all for beating a strong inter side it means less when you win against re-building or struggling teams.

on Macedonian forums, Inter fans cry because of this lol. Because this guy owns DC United and he doesn't want even to spend a penny and some other company's and teams he is businessman nothing more

It seems as though this Erick Thohir is the less wealthy of the Thohirs. His father Teddy Thohir and his brother, Garibaldi Thohir appear to be wealthier. Given his brother's name, they must be Indonesian Italophiles.
