Arsenal will reportedly offer Gervinho as bait to land Lyon midfielder Clement Grenier.
The Gunners are believed to be keen on the 22-year-old, while Les Gones have shown an interest in the former Lille star.
According to The Mirror, the North London club are considering an £8m-plus-player deal to land the France international.
Gervinho has expressed a desire to stay at the Emirates Stadium this summer, despite reports that he has no future at the club.
Lille are reported to be interested in the Ivorian, who has scored just nine Premier League goals since his £10.8m move two years ago.

These 'player + cash' deals almost never seem to materialize.

Re: The Official Summer Transfer Rumours Thread
Good to know the greatest striker of all time has settled down a little, hopefully he can find a new club soon enough.Nicklas Bendtner: "Im talking w/5-6 clubs for a permanent transfer. Things are agreed w/Arsenal and I decide within 2 weeks"
"It doesn't have to be a CL club. That have changed. I'm primarily looking for a club where Im certain to play and be happy"
Arshavin, Squillaci, Denilson, Bendtner and Djourou gone or almost gone. Chamakh, Santos and Park yet to find new clubs.

Re: The Official Summer Transfer Rumours Thread
Newcastle are closing in on Gervinho, according to The Northern Echo.
The daily regional newspaper claim the 26-year-old’s agent is negotiating a deal with The Magpies.
Gervinho joined Arsenal from Lille in 2011 for around £10 million but has struggled to hold down a regular place in Arsene Wenger’s side, making just 61 appearances in all competitions (18 starts this season) and contributing 11 goals and 12 assists. And it is believed The Gunners will listen to offers of around £10 million for the Ivory Coast international.
Things just seem to be getting better and better

Re: The Official Summer Transfer Rumours Thread
I'd rather sell him abroad for a smaller fee. Gervinho isn't a bad player and would probably play like Messi against us.
On the bright side, it'd open up a spot for one of young talents to fill up, like Serge Gnabry.

Not very reliable tbh, not many Newcastle-based rags are so i'd take that with a pinch of salt.
I'd definitely take him though, infinitely better than any winger we currently have.

Re: The Official Summer Transfer Rumours Thread
Goal.com should get an award for fiction writing. I have never seen so much fictional information produced each day.
The names being linked with us makes me more optimistic of the coming season. But lets see what happens.
I think a creative player, either a tricky winger or a creative midfielder should be in Arsene's thoughts.
We can get a good striker but he will have little impact if he does not get the proper service. Another option could be to BUY a DM and let Arteta play the role of a deep-lying playmaker. Before his conversion to a holding player., he was one of the leagues better passers.
