I don't think he was bad. Italy play very physical and Neymar is at disadvantage against the stronger guys. I'm not making excuses for him but I think he played a good game. He showed great off the ball movement on the Oscar flick, and it's really unfortunate he went for the shot instead picking up an assist. I didn't expect him to do well in this game because Italys defense cannot be broken down by individual efforts. His FK goal was the go-ahead score and being able to put your team up when they're down is a skill most players don't have. Brazil as a whole is starting to look like a unit that could win 2014 WC. Is that too bold?

Actually no one reallly played well in the brazilian side than they usually do in everything needed to do except taking a shot at goal. Hardly many dribbles or through passes than usual and whenever neymar had the ball he was tackled hard. He at least fell down 10 times in the match. The only chance he got where he couldnt have been tackled hard was the free kick and he made it count.

They won 4-2 vs a world class side and no one played well? You've got to be kidding.
Maybe no one was excellent from Brazil but several players were good and neymar was one of them, Fred the other who was better.
Neymar was fouled 8 times, he didn't succeed in dribbling and creating more because of that, but he finally scored from a foul he forced in a dangerous play. So I can't see how he was bad, just not out of this world.
And although buffon sucked in the free kick, it was very well taken and I don't think he could save it.

^they did win 4-2 but yes no played their usual self except marcelo. Hulk didnt play too well. oscar except for that brilliant pass to neymar wasnt good either. fred was an exception. If you win 4-2 doesnt mean the whole gameplay and team was awesome, it was just that brazil was not playing as well in their first 2 matches of confed cup. Someone claimed neymar did nothing except the free kick and i replied to him that most players did not play well either, the italians were playing a physical game and neymar was a victim. Thats all. And buffo could have saved it. He was expecting neymar would hit th near post and was leaning towards near post a bit but neymar did the clever thing by surprising him and hiiting on the far one.

That being said I'm shitting my pants Brazil are now back to winning ways.

The whole tournament is a joke, only Brazil and Spain are taking it seriously. It could just well be Supercup type of deal between the two. Brazil and Neymar also getting the obvious FIFA World Cup ad treatment.

Neymar comes in and scores more goals than Villa/Sanchez/Pedro means Messi scores less goals and thus less records get broken.

I saw him drible his marker vs. Uruguay a couple of times as well as once vs. Italy. Don't know why whoscored didn't count them, probably because he was fouled after the drible, but it was a drible still. Versus Italy and Uruguay, Neymar was fouled 16 times. Which is a huge amount of times.

Anyways, he is the 3rd top dribler in the confed cup after Iniesta and Obi Mikel, so obviously your claim that he can't drible anyone is completely rubbish, unless you only consider Messi, Iniesta and a couple other players as able to go past a player.

He is also the top rated player with more than 2 games in the Confed cup according to whoscored, and IMO he played well in every match, the first two more, but still good vs. more quality teams like Italy and Uruguay.

One wonders why Jiopsi dislikes Neymar when he obviously is a good player and hasn't even made his debut for Barça, being unable to play well or bad for us....

If you can't continue the play after the dribble, it isn't a successful dribble. From the 16 fouls, more are dives than actual fouls.

He couldn't beat a man against Italy, and against Uruguay, which is why I said he can't beat a man and just dives everywhere.

I hope this isn't actually indication how he will play in Spain, when he doesn't have the space and time he had in Brazil.

If you beat a man and afterwards you are fouled, it's a drible and a foul. And no, not most of the 16 fouls are dive.
