RealGunner wrote:I have started reading the books. Despite knowing all the story, i can't put it down lol. Reading the 1st one atm and the amount of details that are in there which didn't make the TV show is astonishing.

Also reading from the 1st book, and knowing the stuff till the red wedding from the TV Show. There are so many clues in there which now makes you go "Oh GRR Martin you sly dog" Laughing

He is a genius author.

However i don't think i will read further than where the TV Show is at.
I am in the same boat as you, I dont want to ruin the show No

Btw Jason Momoa (Drogo) is one of the rumored people they are looking at for new Batman, dude can act and has the physical body needed for Batman and can actually fight unlike Bale. Batman is supposed to be a Physical specimen and this guy fits the bill for new Superman vs Batman movie

Post by El Gunner Sun Aug 18, 2013 9:40 am

Finally up to date with Game of Thrones. So I can finally check out this thread. I don't read the books though,

Ahhh but S03E09 was just... Man it was just AWESOME.. Unexpected. But awesome. I wasn't rooting for the Starks or anything like that. Unlike most people I don't root for any house in the show, I just watch. I like certain styles and traits of a house and then I dislike something else about the house. So yeah I just watch and get entertained. If I'm close to rooting someone, it'll be Tyrion and Ayra. So looking forward to next season. I hope you guys who read the books use spoiler tags in this thread.

PS: Khaleesi is gonna fail hard with her dragons and all. (Hate that bitch)

Finished the Game of Thrones and 60% of A clash of Kings.

The books are unreal in terms of information as you would expect obviously. Characters are explained much better and the hints are much more evident. Also some parts are hilarious which they couldn't properly show in the TV show as they were the narration bits.

Few things i discovered by reading the book ( i may have missed it in the TV show for some reason )

Tyrion's chapters are better than anyone else's. He is such an amazing character.

Maester Aemon is freakin Aemon Targaryen of the dragon Knight. Daenyers' uncle and she isn't the last Targaryen left.

I am 90% sure Bran is a descendant of Children of the Forest.

Osha told Bran in the 2nd book(2nd season) that Robb will not return as the old Gods can't protect him that far. Also told him that Robb is marching towards the wrong direction

Jojen meets bran much more earlier in the book than in the TV show hmm

The ones highlighted in red are in the show.

Maester Aemon reveals his identity to Jon in the first season when Jon hears that Robb is going to war and is contemplating joining him, the message being that Aemon kept to his vows during Robert's Rebellion but understands that the decision is difficult.

For the second highlighted note, I distinctly remember her saying these things to Bran when he's sitting by the hearth tree in Winterfell after he has been 'dreaming' of being a wolf.

Yea it was most probably mentioned but i missed it. It's much easier reading back a page from a book than re-watching from 5 minutes ago since you think you have already watched it properly.

Or that i remember things better while reading than watching Razz

Nice, I would actually recommend not starting A Storm of Swords until you have a window of time (a round a week or two) where you are relatively free. Because it will be impossible putting that third book down.

Dude you do know that you go through the same emotions (in fact better overall experience) when you find out something through reading than the TV show.
