Monaco want to build a European powerhouse, they make a few signings to confirm that. Now they go after Luis Neto the *bleep* worse CB in any top league in Europe

I think one time about a year ago, Zealous and i had an epic Benz v Higgy debate... we went at it for 7 pages over 2 days
At this point, i just do it out of habit. There's no new data. All the arguments for each side are the same. Nothing's changed or will change. It just is

The thread wouldn't have closed had you just posted the article and move on instead of fishing for reaction.

Sports stamping his KingPin authority in transfer news. C'mon, leave some for MT. What he lacks in quality reports he makes up in quantity.

Re: Summer Transfer Rumours Mk.II
I have big hopes for this transfer window.
After some quite mediocre ones in recent years this should be quite exciting
Jose making his stamp on Chelsea again
Will moyes sign any other players apart from Fellaini for Utd
Who will the new city boss bring in
Will spurs sign Damio and Villa
Will Wenger raid his piggy bank
On a personal level im quite conflicted about Sunderland. I was quite worried about us filling our team with Italians who don't tend to do well in our league.
With only 3 defenders left at the club with first team experience, one of which is Wes Brown we have allot of work to do sorting our squad out.
We recently sacked our scouting network which was quite a worry considering the squad situation.
But bringing this fella in from Milan as chief scout/director of football things are starting to look up.
Looking at the work he previously did at Udinese they have a pretty diverse squad of nationalities.
I might finally get to see a Brazilian playing in red & white.

No no I don't disagree with your premise. Monaco haven't been intelligent with their purchases yet I'm sure they aren't stupid enough to buy such an atrocious player. Rumours probably spurned because Carvalho is Portuguese and so is Neto=Summer transfer logic.

How many of those have been recent Arquitescu. There are some exceptions but there have been plenty of Massimo Maccarones

You are right, but literally all of the imports who have come to England in recent times have been Serie B legends, average players or just simply young.
Whats beneficial for Sunderland is if Di Canio and SFC import Italian tactics or philosophies and players who can follow through with them instead of the rejects that others have gotten before.
So far the moves SFC have made in the scouting department look bright enough and with Di Canio to lead the project, it can turn into something special. Large blueprints of it were already there with PDC's arrival.
Will take time though, as these semantics usually do.

Italian newspaper Leggo:
Juve are offering midfielder Felipe Melo plus €5 million cash for Tevez. Brazilian midfielder Melo, who spent last season on-loan with Galatasaray, is priced at €38 million by Juve.

Fulham are closing in on AS Roma goalkeeper Maarten Stekelenburg.
Dutch media sources say Fulham and Roma have agreed a €3 million fee for Stekelenburg, who came close to signing for the Cottagers in January.
Negotiations are now at an advanced stage, with the goalkeeper due in London next week for a medical and to sign terms.

Re: Summer Transfer Rumours Mk.II
Forgot to mention in previous post we have apparently agreed a fee for this Diakité fella from Lazio.
Seems like a deal for Astori is close also.
Some french fella who plays in Portugal called Roberge is at the SOl now
Krasic has apparently confirmed we are interested in him
Don't have a clue about any of them lol
These seem to be De Fanti targets before Angeloni has started work for us.

Arsenal and Liverpool interested in Moussa Sow, according to A Bola. He'd cost 20m Euros.

Art Morte wrote:Coutinho has been great in the middle, I think I'd rather buy a natural winger than have two natural CAMs. Although if a young talent like Eriksen is available you have to act when you have got the chance.
Except against sides who are able to put physical pressure on him, like West Ham and Everton... he can still create a bit but he's not nearly as effective when his space and time is restricted by a physical presence. Another creative option, especially one that can operate effectively in tighter spaces in midfield would not only relieve some of the creative pressure on Coutinho, but would also free up some space, especially if Coutinho is played in a LAM role where he can exploit openings left by wingers and fullbacks getting forward.

Re: Summer Transfer Rumours Mk.II
Leaders of Makhachkala "Anji" is considering buying 27-year-old Newcastle and Senegal national team striker Papis Cisse.
According to "Izvestia", Makhachkala are ready to offer around €18 million for the forward, and - as with most of their players - a contract with an annual salary of around €3 million, which is significantly more than his current salary at Newcastle.
It is worth noting that the Anji coaching department have followed Cisse from the time of his performances for Freiburg in Germany. According to the club's management and coaching staff, the Senegalese striker could easily fit into the team.
Considering who it is i'd like to try and get something in the 20s tbh.
