You did quite allot of unsettling to get Ronaldo and wernt very gentlemanly then.

20 million plus a player in exchange for a player who wants to leave is a great deal. I'm not even semi-joking like I usually do in these cases.

This is of course assuming Suarez does indeed want to go. If not things obviously change.

You do know Liverpool values Suarez higher than £40m. 20m + Callejon wouldn't buy Agger ffs.

True but in the end we paid like 96 mill Euro which is a fair value of him while Barca paid like 29 mill euros and some add ons lol..

In the end Manutd were satisfied with the money they got while Arsenal were robbed.

I agree with Adit. Madrid have always paid well in the transfer market. There's never been a time when we haven't paid fair or even higher amount for players.

The one instance I can remember was Owen but it was his own fault for lowballing Liverpool and leaving his contract to run down to 1 year and almost finalizing the whole deal himself.

Value is very subjective... it's what a player is worth to you. It just so happens that Madrid can monetize a player better than any other club in the world i would argue. So of course Madrid can pay more.

There's no such thing as a fixed market value when the revenue generated changes from club to club for the same player.

According to Liverpool's official website the total fees received by the club for Alonso, Andrea Dossena and Andrei Voronin was £29.7m in the summer of 2009. Real Madrid absolutely did not pay 30 million for Alonso. Liverpool received a combined total of 6.25m Euros for Dossena and Voronin so simple mathematics says we paid 24.3 million for Xabi.
