Re: Arsenal Lobby
Impressive for Arsenal. Didn't expect that with Tottenham since blunders against the likes of Fulham (L) and Wigan (draw) at the end of last year bottling chances still seem recent as well as the West Ham loss and Newcastle loss this year.RealGunner wrote:https://pbs.twimg.com/media/BY-YSJWIMAAao7f.jpg
Kind of makes a mockery of those thinking AVB is on thin ice. The beginning of the season last year was rocky too, but gets better, as this table helps show. He has a lot to work out but he's the best Tottenham have at the moment and I believe in AVB
The RVP thing gave me a giggle. Not sure if he's a douchebag or just socially inept.

He's most probably making Wilshere-Ramsey like wages so between £60-80k.
Anyway really happy he finally signed! Sir Chez can now fully concentrate in his 2013 form which has been quite amazing.

Re: Arsenal Lobby
Arsenal midfielder Mathieu Flamini has clashed with the club's long-time kit man Vic Akers.
The Daily Star Sunday says Flamini got shirty when he was rebuked for cutting the sleeves off his top in the Premier League clash at Old Trafford last week.
Arsene Wenger’s side have a strict policy of players wearing shirts with the same length of sleeve, a decision made by the captain on the day of the match.
But Flamini, 29, took the scissors to his yellow shirt and the Gunners staff didn’t notice until the second half was under way.
Long-serving Ackers, 67, took Flamini to task over giving his sleeves the snip.
An Arsenal source said: “Vic and Mathieu had heated words at the end of the game.
“It is a tradition that all players wear the same shirt. Why he can’t simply roll his sleeves up rather than cut them off is beyond most of us.
“But only Bacary Sagna gave Vic any support over the issue.
“It didn’t help that the shirts were ones with a poppy on, that are sometimes auctioned off to raise money for charity.”

I though this was an old article for a second. At least when he was 22 you could chalk some of this up to youthful hubris. But now? Is Bendtner the dumbest footballer on the planet?

Captain Arteta talks about his team mates...
a very nice one..
Jack Wilshere
“Firstly, have you seen his quads? They’re massive! He’s got a low centre of gravity and it’s very hard to push him off the ball.
He’s like a little Spanish bull! As for his ability, Jack possesses a rare quality: he can eliminate players for fun, and when he shifts the ball from defence to attack, you just can’t catch him.
he’s learned a lot and has the pressure of already being an important player for England, so his maturity is key.”
Aaron Ramsey
“Physically, he can run all day and technically, he’s well rounded.
The only thing missing was finishing but this season, he’s been clinical: I can see him getting 20 goals if he keeps it up.
Once you get to that level, people expect you to stay there.
He’s among the right players and the boss has faith, so he’ll only get better.”
Mesut Ozil
“We’re going to have fun with Mesut.
It’s tough coming to the Premier League when a club has shelled out £42m for you, but he just clicked.
He gives us something different and has the natural talent to find space in that No10 role, which is not easy to do.
At first he was shy, but it’s an easy changing room at Arsenal and we’re starting to get to know the real Mesut.
Along with the other Germans, he’s certainly involved himself in all the banter!”
Santi Cazorla
“We’ve developed a great relationship, and even our wives have become friends! Santi’s a lovely guy who gets on well with everyone and is always smiling.
His biggest attribute is his vision and range of passing with both feet: he can deliver a 60-yard ball on a sixpence.
Even though he’s not the toughest or biggest, he’s adapted to the English game and has become a very important player for us.”
Tomas Rosicky
“I love him! He’s one of the cleverest footballers I know, as he’s quick and always moves with his first touch, which makes it very hard for other players to tackle him.
His workrate is amazing, too. As soon as he gives it away – boom! He puts pressure on the opposition, and that sparks the rest of us to react.
I think he’s the most underrated player in the team. Playing with Tomas is an absolute pleasure.”
…And me
“I’m happy! I was unfortunate to get injured two days before the start of the season, but I came back much quicker than the doctors were expecting because I was desperate to play.
I feel good with the players I have around me and we’ve started well.
This is the best midfield Arsenal have had since I’ve been at the club.”

I was a free agent after my contract with Milan expired. They offered me a two-year deal but I was expecting three years. I’m 29 years old now and have some really good years in front of me, so I decided to leave Milan and I just came back to Arsenal at first to work on my fitness. I worked really hard for a month with our fitness coach Tony Colbert, and then I ended up signing again and coming home to Arsenal.
Yes, I had the possibility of other clubs in Italy, in England, in Germany even. But for me it was the chance to come back to Arsenal, with the team we have right now, to work with Arsène Wenger again. It was basically him who introduced me to the top level. He brought me into the Premier League and into the Champions League, so I didn’t think twice when I had the chance to come back. I just said, “Let’s do it.”

he number of teams that can aspire to win it has increased. To show you an example, it is nearly 10 years since Real Madrid won it, and they have won it nine times.
Today when you watch Champions League games, you have the best players in the world in there. When you want to buy a player now he just looks at whether you are in the Champions League or not.
In the last few seasons it has become a lot more international, and it is much more difficult to win it nowadays than it was a few years ago.
