Re: Arsenal Lobby
Personally I'm not convinced it was all so intentional, but I still kind of love it -

http://espnfc.com/blog/_/name/kickingandscreaming/id/557?cc=5901
As the boys in Spinal Tap once wisely observed, there is a fine line between stupid and clever. When Arsenal bid $60 million to bring that lovable scamp Luis Suarez to the Emirates over the summer, I worried that Arsene Wenger had finally descended into total stupidity.
But much like the massive difference between 10 and 11 on a speaker amp, Wenger's subtle gambits take a keen eye to appreciate. If I had one, I might have picked up on the intent of Wenger's audacious poker play. He was never really interested in Suarez as anything more than a bluff, a Machiavellian masterstroke to throw Real Madrid off the Uruguayan's scent and to drive the price to such a preposterous level as to force the Spanish giants to channel all their energy -- and money -- into procuring Spurs' best player, Gareth Bale.
As the Welshman's price tag soared to the heavens like Gervinho's hair line, Madrid found itself looking for someone to help defray the cost.
Wilkommen, Mesut Ozil, and a tip of the Texas Hold 'em Stetson to Arsene the Genius.

I actually like it. Could be a prototype though, but I do agree that skintights are a no-no unless a player (Robben) requests them like that

Re: Arsenal Lobby
Dennis Bergkamp says he understands why people have compared the capture of Mesut Ozil with his arrival from Inter Milan back in 1995 and has backed the German as the man to take Arsenal to a new level.
An an interview in today’s Telegraph, the Dutch master spoke about the impact his signing had on the club and said that although he’s not keen on setting the two up together, he can see why people have made the comparison after the £42.5m signing from Real Madrid.
“I don’t like comparing. We’re all unique. But I do understand the similarities people see and I believe he can be very important to the team.
“He is a tremendous player with a lot of effective skills like controlling the ball, making creative passes and assists, taking the right position in the field every time. And he’s extremely experienced.
“Putting all that together I think you’ve got a player who can be the missing link in the Arsenal team, a player who will make a striker score goals, who will link up in Arsenal’s position-game and who will score goals as well.
“With all the respect to the other Arsenal players, I think he is the one who can make a difference. The other players are good in midfield. But you need someone of a high-level you can be good in all areas of the pitch.”
Bergkamp also touched on desire to return to the club at some point in his coaching career, but suggested it’s something that won’t happen in the immediate future.
“The feeling Johan Cruyff has had for Barcelona, I have the same with Arsenal,” says Bergkamp, currently assistant coach at his boyhood club Ajax.
“At Arsenal it was a good click. I always enjoyed it. I never had a bad day there. It is always on my mind. It is part of my ambition to come back at some stage.
“I can’t really plan ahead. I know I will be here [at Ajax] for at least another three or five years and then I don’t know. I don’t see myself being at Ajax for the rest of my coaching career. I don’t see myself as a manager.
“I see myself as being part of the coaching staff. I really enjoy that role, especially the individual training with the strikers.
“I’ve spoken to or have heard about others [former Arsenal colleagues] who would also love to come back. Steve Bould is there now which is excellent. I’ve spoken to Patrick Vieira and Thierry Henry would love to come back to Arsenal one day. Tony [Adams] is a big option as well.”

Re: Arsenal Lobby
BT Sport has today announced it has become an official partner of Arsenal Football Club.
The new partnership enables the Barclays Premier League broadcaster to promote its extensive offering of live football through Arsenal’s digital channels in the UK and Ireland.
In addition, the agreement will give the broadcaster access to Arsenal’s first team players and manager to create unique and exclusive content to support and enhance BT Sport’s Barclays Premier League coverage.
Arsenal and BT have a long-standing relationship, and earlier this year Arsenal midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain was one of the key athletes featured in the national launch campaign of BT Sport.
